ah, the famous Europacenter-Scene......love it. during the 80ties the anonymus no. 2 and his friends used to sleep in the staircase of the Europacenter when we were hitchhiking 2 Berlin, having no place to stay and the rain prevented us from crushing in the Tiergarten -Park(1)

(2) and at around 6.30 h the bouncers of the Wach- and Schließgesellschaft were chasing us away and giving us a house ban..... but they never checked our i. d., so basically - after more than 40 yrs - i still sense a feeling of freedom when reminded 2 the Europa-Center...🙃🙃

„Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo“ ist ein deutscherSpielfilm aus dem Jahr 1981. Das Filmdrama, zugleich eine Filmbiografie, erzählt aus dem Leben der drogenabhängigen Jugendlichen Christiane Felscherinow. Der Film entstand nach dem Buch Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, das mit Hilfe von Christiane F. nach Tonbandprotokollen und Recherchen von Kai Hermann und Horst Rieck 1978 veröffentlicht wurde. Der an Originalschauplätzen und zum Teil mit Laiendarstellern gedrehte Film ist eine Studie des Drogen- und Prostitutions-Milieus. Regisseur Uli Edel bekam Unterstützung von David Bowie, dessen Konzert in Berlin die wirkliche Christiane F. besucht hatte. Diese Szenen wurden eigens für den Film im New Yorker Hurrah Club – Bowie spielte gerade The Elephant Man am Broadway – am 9. Dezember 1980 nachgedreht.

Gaspar Noé on Uli Edel's 'Christiane F.' (1981): "We had some film references also in mind when we shot 'Climax' (2018). Like the most unexpected one, probably, is 'Christiane F.' (1981). I re-watched it for the eighth time lately, and it’s a big melodrama, very, very hardcore, with young kids doing drugs and coming to prost!tute themselves to save their love story, but what amazed me when I re-watched the movie was how colourful the movie was, and how well-dressed the characters were. It’s very joyful in terms of colour, in terms of music. The movie is totally dark, and it’s dirty. So I asked both my cinematographer, my production designer – who was repainting all the locations – and my stylist, to be as colourful as they could be, but with scenes that would always look dirty. (...) Really what I liked about 'Christiane F'. was that it was so respectful to every single one of its characters – the movie was, and the director was."
