Christianity is not a religion but God's divine strategy to restore man back to his original design through Christ!. It is the only way to life.

Christianity is a religion because it has a set of rules or instructions that communize us in fellowship e.g communion and doctrine of baptism which was lay down to us as practice from the early church . So someone who is not saved can mingle amidst us in the communizing the set of rules or instructions and we may not detect ,infact we can make him choir head or pastor accidentally … By religion ,they are identified but not known by God or known God …they know the lay down rules ,the upbringing church doctrines and environment but they are not saved . They can argue even against scripture to preserve their church doctrines and environment because they grow up in the religion not in Christ etc (tho this can vary ) The Bible says THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS , let those who call upon the Lord departs from iniquity … How did God know those who are His ? Relationship So we are Christians truly by relationship.

I'll always say that those who deny that Christianity is a religion do not recognize that they are operating from the mental vantage point that religion is inherently bad. A vantage point stemming from the narrative of atheists and agnostic contrarians.

Did Jesus start a religion? No. Jesus was Jew. His disciples were Jews. Paul argued himself a Jew. It was outsiders who coined the name Christian because the believers were like Christ and professed Him
