Here are some facts about the Actor Christopher Lee, who plays Saruman in Lord of The Rings. Among a host of other big roles in a career spanning 60 years. 1) He is a descendant of Charlemagne, yes, the "Emperor of the West" (and they even look alike). 2) He was the inspiration behind James Bond, his cousin Ian Fleming wrote the novel with him in mind. 3) He is the only one of the "Lord of the Rings" cast who knew Tolkien personally. 4) He almost married a member of Swedish royalty, permission was granted by the King of Sweden himself. 5) He witnessed the last guillotine execution in France. 6) And last but not least, during World War II he hunted Nazis. What a life this man had, it's worth a documentary.
