Birth of England’s youngest Test player (the record is now held by Rehan Ahmed) #OnThisDay in 1931, the ‘courageous’ Brian Close was born. He played 22 Tests for England. Michael Holding (when Close batted without a helmet at the age of 45): “Not just the toughest batsman, he was one of the toughest people in the game.”

One of the craziest finishes of 2024 Georgia Southern down 23-3. Backup QB comes in late in the 4th quarter. 21 unanswered points, capped off by a game-winning TD with a minute left. That backup QB was Dexter Williams, who starts for Tulsa at Arkansas this weekend 👀

Has Nigel Farage just made a big blunder in his cosy chat with GBNews’ political editor? What about Boris Johnson Farage asks Christopher Hope ? Johnson received a gift from the same donor ( Christopher Harborne) says Farage - at 56 seconds Indeed he did It’s on the record ( because Johnson declared it ) that the Office of Boris Johnson received £1m from Christopher Harborne At the time ( 2022) it was the largest gift to an individual in British political history But was it wise in view of Ben Habib’s claim ( that both Johnson and Farage received £1m from Harborne) to draw attention to Johnson’s openly declared gift? So Christopher Hope📝 can you clear that up for us?Can Mr Farage confirm he did not receive a £1m gift from Harborne at the same time as Mr Johnson? And can he also confirm that he has received no other million pound gifts? Because as you will have noticed Zia Yusuf refused to answer that question when asked by Matt Chorley …. Which creates what may be unnecessary suspicion…..good idea to clear things up 👍

Mykel Williams is reportedly rated as a "Top-5" overall prospect on over half of NFL team's boards as of now according to an NFL scout. Williams could reportedly "easily" make the draft day jump into the first five picks, just as Travon Walker did. Williams has absolutely BULLIED some of football's top OT's including Paris Johnson (Ohio State) and Kelvin Banks Jr. (Texas), with some scouts even comparing him to Chandler Jones. Across three seasons at Georgia, Williams recorded 85 pressures, 17 sacks, 57 QB hurries, and 46 stops. At 6'5", 265 pounds, The Bulldogs edge rusher is a complete FREAK of a prospect 😳

After nearly 10 years of delays the case against former Georgia State trooper AJ Scott has been set for trial. In September 2015 Scott collided with a vehicle carrying 4 teenagers. Tragically, the incident occurred while Scott was NOT responding to an emergency call and was traveling at an excessive speed of over 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. Without blue lights or sirens, the crash resulted in the deaths of Kylie Lindsey and Isabella Chinchilla.

ALERT: Bodycam and drone footage released shows SWAT running over a gunman who barricaded himself in his house and shot and killed a sheriff. The Kern County Sheriff's Office in California released the footage of officers going to David Eric Morales' home to deliver an eviction notice when chaos broke out as he opened fire at deputies with a high-powered rifle. Tulare County Sheriff's Deputy Randy Hoppert, a former Navy corpsman, was shot during the ambush and later died at the hospital. Morales barricaded himself in his home for hours, as deputies and equipment were shot at. Police say Morales even shot drones out of the sky and shot at armored vehicles. Morales, wearing camouflage, was sprawled out in the bushes while police yelled commands for him to surrender. After not complying, a sheriff drove a BearCat armored vehicle over Morales, ultimately killing him. Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said, “Don't shoot at cops. You shoot at cops, we’re going to run you over. He got run over. He got what he deserved… I can tell you there is no consoling that family at this point… Attacks on law enforcement of this nature must stop.”
