Best on-screen Athena ever.

Wow, would you look at that. Actors and a production actually trying to look Greek vs what we're soon getting, actors that appear as if they were cast from downtown Los Angles.

I miss it when Hallmark was known for producing 2-part fantasy epics on NBC that stretched the Hell out of their budgets... and not Christmas romcoms about big city women who find love in small towns.

If he’s gonna drain the color he may as well shoot in black and white

@thatstarwarsgrl When the father that’s been absent your entire life comes back, and the first thing he says to you is “let’s take out the trash.” Epic father and son time.

That scene...

A masterpiece. The best adaptation of The Odyssey so far. Let's see how Nolan fares with his version. Wolfgang Petersen's Troy was also a remarkable audiovisual product despite its narrative freedoms

I saw this on tv when it aired and it changed my life. I had my parents buy me this books the weekend after it aired.

Best odyssey movie ever

Hallmark made this movie? How tf did they go from this to making shitty Christmas in July Karen movies?

directed by Andrei Konchalovsky btw, who worked with Tarkovsky on a screenplay of Andrei Rublev I remember Odyssey being meh but i probably need to rewatch it, and imo Konchalovsky has much more interesting films from the soviet era (English subtitles):

I want to watch this so bad lol

It’s on YouTube

👏👏👏👏 hell yes

I literally have not seen this in 25-30 years omg the nostalgia

The cast was craaaazy good!

This will always be a classic, one that Nolan will never be able to surpass.

That whole Syclla scene was so freaking disturbing, especially the first few minutes as the crew is freaking out and trying to figure out what is attacking them in the darkness Absolutely NO WAY Nolan will come close to recapturing the horror of that scene

You have my attention

nolans movie will be complete jew dogshit with mutts and browns everywhere.

The best thing about Nolan's film is that this forgotten little gem is getting some attention again 🖤 I wish they'd just take some of Nolan's budget and use it on upgrading the CGI parts of this film.

Isabella rosellini as Athena 🥰

A moving, very well-crafted series. Armand Assante is fantastic, followed by fine turns by Eric Roberts and Greta Scacchi. Beautifully filmed on location. Totally worth tracking it down for a watch.

Eric Roberts being the lead slimy suitor was so on point.

Narrated by the living legend himself.

We should all be grateful for Athena.

It does have Eric Roberts ….

Really ones know!

Watched this when it had aired. This was the truest I seen a interpretation of the Odyssey. Nolan will never touch this. Guy ruins everything with his realism bs.

I would much rather watch this than Nolan

Never topping this. Peak television.

He will not… however this is the one and only Odyssey on screen

I remember seeing this as a kid, and I enjoyed it as a kid. But as an adult, I’m very happy for Nolan to try…

I can remember when this came out in the 90's as a 2 part miniseries on network tv. I just rewatched it on Prime. It's a great movie...a really good adaptation. Armand Assanti is perfection!

This two part series had no right to be as good as it was

This was so good
