He's said in interviews that he copied heats bank robbery and even used the same actor for the manager because of it. You're never going to convince me that the Dark Knight isn't awesome. It's only flaw being replacing Katie Holmes.

Holy retard 😭 this is like saying every time you do a symmetrical center shot you’re just copying Kubric

He literally told his crew to watch Heat before they started working on Batman because that was the vibe he wanted.

Nothing is 100% original. Everybody takes inspiration from somewhere.

@lporiginalg “Really, robbing this bank again!? You know you guys are just going to end up shooting each other right? Oh sorry did I spoil the twist?”

The Dark Knight was Heat for 16 year olds.

He literally said he based the movie on Heat. I remember hearing this over 15 years ago. It’s the reason I watched heat

The Dark Knight is a pretty good movie but it is so overrated that it's preposterous. Batman Begins is the best of that trilogy by far.

I should watch Heat

Pfft. You’re obviously not a filmmaker. Otherwise, you’d know the best way to give compliment to a great filmmaker is to build upon what they’ve done. This has been true since the beginning of filmmaking.

Does this scene from Bullitt (1968) remind you of any other movie?

Nolan was talking for months before TDK release about how it was a crime saga and a homage to Heat. Friends of mine and I rewatched Heat in prep for release and all hollered in delight when we saw the Van Zant cameo. This post is disingenuous.

Yeah inception was super unoriginal. Straight anime copy.

That’s called paying homage. Small subtle shots is a deep sign of respect, a common thing in artistic expression.

Inception should have been called Exposition since like 75% of the movie was overexplaining the stupid plot device.

Nolan has been pretty open that Heat was a massive influence on the Dark Knight.

@lporiginalg Wait until you see how Inception is just Paprika but 100x less cooler

Even used the same actor! (Different tie though.)

Nobody in 2008 loved Heat like they do now so this was more of an homage than a rip-off.

Also Inception was completely stolen from a Japanese anime.

Heat is one of my favorite movies of all time. He’s been fucking with us for years. Remember when he put up Maggie Gyllenhaal as a love interest for Batman and Harvey Dent? Give me a break.

Every great filmmaker copies from other filmmakers: Spielberg, Kubrick, Tarantino. It’s all about putting your own spin on things. #filmtwt #cinema
