Tom Holland got emotional describing what he’s learned from Jon Bernthal since he was a kid and Bernthal broke down mid-interview. Sean Evans: What’s one thing about the other guy that you appreciate more than you did back then, with the last decade of experience? Jon Bernthal: That’s easy for me. Tom Holland: I want to — I’ll take this one cuz you always say such nice things about me, man. Jon Bernthal: Oh. Tom Holland: As a young man in this business, coming up, it’s so important to find people that you can look up to and people you aspire to be like. And the way John is with his family and his kids, and the way he approaches his work, the way he is with people on set, the way he’s been with me since I was a kid to now being 30 years old, is something I’m super grateful for. And I’ve learned a lot from him as a professional. Even today, listening to you talk about all that Russian bullsh*t was really interesting. Jon Bernthal: Tom, this is so bad, bro. This is so bad. Tom Holland: And the tears are my love for him. Jon Bernthal: I love you too, man. I really love you too, man. Tom Holland: The fact that we auditioned for these movies together and we took that leap of faith together and we got to share this moment together now is pretty awesome. And I’m just very grateful, very grateful that we got to do this. Even our first day on the Odyssey was together. Jon Bernthal: Yeah. Tom Holland: And we got to sit down after work and we were like, dude, how f*cking crazy was that? I’m going to drink your milk, bro.

Anne Hathaway reflects on reuniting with Christopher Nolan after 12 years: “Well, it's amazing. I got to work with Chris on "The Dark Knight Rises", and then I made his next film, "Interstellar", with him. But then I didn't get a call for like 12 years, so a part of me was wondering, did I do something wrong? Like, you know? There was a lovely moment when he made a film with an actress who was kind of my age, and Emma called to say, just so you know, he doesn't want an American for this part. So they were kind of, you know, caretaking for me from a distance. When I got the call back, I was so overjoyed because I am as lucky as you get as an actor.”

Tom Holland on working with Robert Pattinson: “I love working with Rob for two reasons: One, because I feel like every time I’ve worked with him I’ve left a better actor. And also, I really admire his ability to make big choices and it never feels like you [to Robert] are playing a caricature, it always feels authentic. And I also just love him as a person, we always have a good time.”

Tom Holland thought Christopher Nolan kept stopping a scene in The Odyssey because he didn't like their performance. Interviewer: “What was your most daunting moment while making The Odyssey?” Tom Holland: “My first day was probably one of the most daunting experiences of my career.” “Just being part of a movie of this scale… and that scene was one of the most important in my character’s arc.” “It was a very emotional scene. John Boyega was with me, and it was his first day too.” “We finished the day, and it wasn’t until I left that I thought, ‘Oh… I can totally do this. I can swim in these waters.’” “Working with the IMAX camera for the first time is an experience.” “I didn’t know it only ran for three minutes.” “I remember Christopher Nolan kept cutting, and I was with John like, “Why does he keep cutting?”” “In my head I’m thinking, “Does he not like what we’re doing? What is happening?”” Interviewer: “You’re the third person I’ve spoken to this week who’s said that.” Tom Holland: “Then George Cottle told me, “No, no, no… there’s only three minutes in the mag.”” “I was like… “Oh, thank God.”” Interviewer: “That’s a very common refrain. John said that. Lupita said that.” “But you’re incredible in that scene.” Tom Holland: “Thank you very much.”

Tom Holland jokes he wanted to hit Robert Pattinson because of how good he was when they were shooting the "daddy" scene in The Odyssey: "He's a good pal of mine, and he is such a treat to work with because he's so good and he really keeps you on your toes as an actor. You can never coast when you're working with Rob. Everything is gonna challenge you. He's gonna make big choices and, you know, acting is listening. You have to be able to react to him. And I do remember in that scene when he's talking to me, having this feeling inside of like, 'I wanna hit him so fucking bad.' But he's great and I love him. He's excellent in this film and I feel like he's probably the only person that could have found that version of Antinous. He really has a unique way about him."

sarah finn, casting director for #AgathaAllAlong, says that they got very lucky with casting joe locke as wiccan: “that was probably the widest search. we know that’s going to be a very central character. […] we were open to seeing all auditions. [...] we got very lucky. he had so many qualities which are very intriguing and very right for this [role]. a, he is an incredibly talented actor, and b, he has an innocence and a charm to him i find very inviting and welcoming. you want to spend time with this person, you want to get to know more about him. i think what ultimately really set him apart is, he’s very complex. he’s very sensitive. he has an old soul quality where you feel like he may know more than he’s letting on. we felt like there’d be a lot of layers that we could peel away and go further and further into the mystery of who this teen is. but all the while, have somebody that you’re going to care about. you sort of root for him, i hope. from the beginning, he has wonderful chemistry and dynamics with kathryn [hahn]. [...] we knew that he could potentially be in a group of quite heavy hitter women and has to hold his own. he was more than up to that challenge.” (via the official marvel podcast)

Tom Holland and Sadie Sink share their first impressions of each other: Tom: “This movie really sings because of the work that you did. So for me, when I met you for the first time, I met someone that was really eager to do the work, really excited to be a part of the world, and someone that I know is going to carry the responsibility with a lot of grace.” Sadie: “Tom is just like a natural born leader and I think exactly the kind of person you want in this role, leading this film. So I was very impressed by him since day one.”

Tom Cruise says he casts actors by finding their inner light first and then builds the script around it used that approach on Renee Zellweger for Jerry Maguire “Tom Cruise: "I'm not just having a script and there's the character and let's find the actor that could play this character. I'm looking at the actor and going, 'Boy, look at the light that this actor has. Look at the ability that this actor has.' And I'm looking to take a light and shine it on that and then let it grow.” “Tom Cruise: "When I'm hiring, you know, Renee Zellweger for Jerry Maguire or any cast member, I spend more time on their performances with the camera on them as we're exploring the story and developing it.”
