Nolan waited until he had the world’s trust — and the biggest stage — to “honour” Homer’s Odyssey with his trademark obsession for detail and practical effects. Then he betrayed it all. He blackwashed the cast, erased every Greek from their own epic, and handed the sacred text to Emily Wilson’s feminist reimagining, bastardising 2,800 years of poetic mastery into flat, modern vernacular. A rapper as the bard? That wasn’t fidelity… it was a deliberate middle finger to the source. After preaching authenticity for decades, Nolan lied to us with this production. He took Greek money and Greek locations, then colonised the soul of the story. Shame on him. #BoycottNolanOdyssey

It’s the production team department’s commitment making the practical effects.

Villeneuve's riposte (per Blade Runner 2049) - "If you can't tell the difference, does it matter?"

🎥🛠️🎬 By prioritizing practical effects, Nolan creates tangible worlds and sequences that feel more immediate and immersive, as seen across his body of work from intense action to vast space explorations.

Well yes, but the Trinity gas explosion in Oppenheimer was so bad he should do a Director's VFX Edit.

He needed CGI in Dunkirk to fill out the beaches with soldiers as it really looked. It looked ridiculously thin.
