Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk won 3 Oscars, including Best Sound Editing & Best Sound Mixing. The reason I mention that is because Dunkirk has always been the film in which Nolan put so much emphasis on sound. The sound here brings you face-to-face with the story. It’s brilliant.

Dunkirk would probably be the defining film for almost any other director but Christopher Nolan. Nolan’s use of sound in this film stands out most. Seeing this in IMAX for the visuals is obviously great, but witnessing the sound editing in a theater is next level. What a film.

In Dunkirk (2017) the "ticking" sound in the score is a recording of Christopher Nolan’s own pocket watch. He gave the audio to Hans Zimmer to create a "snowballing" sense of anxiety that never stops until the credits.

I’m excited to see some of the set pieces Nolan executes in The Odyssey, including the way in which Nolan brings the Trojan Horse to life. Nolan brought the Batmobile to life in the best way possible, which is just one example of Nolan’s excellence.

The Dark Knight is Christopher Nolan’s best film & it might be his best script too. This scene between Michael Caine & Christian Bale has always stayed with me because of the stoicism Alfred imparts on Bruce & the way in which he turns the tables around on Bruce. Moments between Bale & Caine throughout this franchise are unforgettable. I’m so ready for new Nolan.

The weird thing about this is that One Piece CAN sound great with the sound effects it uses...but the editing is the problem It's a shame because Hidenori Arai's work on Dragon Ball is some of the best out there too. I wonder if it's burnout from working on 1000+ episodes lol
