The animation is nice, but Frog's speech is iconic and it is a crime to remove it.

Pretty much the only good thing about the ps version. They butchered that game.

The SNES version is better because it keeps you in the game mentally imo.

They added unnecessary cutscenes like this to Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on the PSP too and I think it made the game worse. Original cutscene is fine and fits the aesthetic. The cutaway to something completely different is jarring.

@doobydooby30 I can assure you that no amount of anime cutscenes would have been worth those loading times.

Nintendo DS version is the better one and Playstation is by FAR the worst. Be honest here.

I have it on ps1. Literally loads wvery fucking frame

Frog's Theme always hits, always. Damn the music for this game was pure fire.

SNES all the way never liked the cutscene version it breaks the immersion

Honestly I like the in-engine cutscenes more, even with how cool the animated one is

No entanto a maioria prefere jogar a versão de Super Nintendo por um motivo simples: não tinha tela de loading. O port de Chrono para Playstation foi muito porco e só a inserção dos vídeos não compensava os loadings infinitos de batalha e mudança de tela.

game was peak, I both want and fear a remake or remaster for it. On one hand it could be amazing on another it could be terrible.

Glenn's my homie from way back he had the best side-story in the whole game

This music still gives me goosebumps 💪

Btw Frogs human form is just Vegeta from DBZ with green hair.

yes, the super Nintendo version used in-engine assets and effects, the PS one used a cinematic instead. even if both are pre-rendered, one is more immersive and authentic to gameplay.

La Rana papá, la maldita ranaaa

Cool they tried cutscenes (even if they look like ass), but to date, no one has ever legitimately reached this point in the PS version because of load times.

To bad the ps version runs like shit

The fucking Toei sfx, zoros sword still sounds like that to this day

Bottom better

único jogo que senta na mesma mesa de FF7

The SNES version hits me harder. The PS part failed to transmit the part of Glenn having thoughts before using the sword. Those who know the backstory of that sword, Glenn and Cyrus could have an idea of what was going in his mind.

Absolutely banger of a sound track. Gives me chills

Se me hizo raro que la versión de ds te muestre el video de la de ps1 y seguido te ponga la de snes. Lo veias 2 veces

these cutscences were such a neat addition to the original and felt like rewards for progression. Reminds me of the criminally underrated Lunar games.

@PascalgarL

nah this scene, this game, that music... ❤️

I believe it deserves a HD-2D remake.

@senhoritamucura oia o jogo que o akira trabaiou

This PS cutscene hits in the feels.

vaya TEMAZO

It's too bad the PS1 was a dumpster fire outside of the cutscenes. Insane loadtimes, defective discs, etc

Snes was better. The immersion was so perfect we had the best version of that cutscene in our heads
