the dedication to walk in place made this funnier than i expected

Now that I think about it, I think we all just practice traditions instead of religion until we actually dive into being religious. When ppl ask me about my Japanese side of things, I explain that we have traditions but not religion. That might be same for US...

i remember a conversation with my step father : In japan we like to follow rules so we import any religion that has strict rules. Shinto, for everyday life Buddhism, for death Christianism, for the wedding But when Islam came, everything was taken ! So it didn't work.

I've had amusing conversations like this, more so surprised when I explain that not everyone in America is Christian.

神社に来たらそうするのが普通過ぎて何も思ってなかったけど、言われてみれば神社でやる一連の動作を知ってる日本人って無宗教といえど…って感じですね笑笑 でもみんななんちゃってでやってるだけで神とか信じてないんですよ…

I love how this went where I hoped it would.

日本人はみな無宗教だと言うけど、どちらかと言うと他の国のやつも楽しい行事として取り入れたいってだけ(ハロウィン•クリスマス•イースターなど)あと日本には神様が多すぎる(笑) 信仰心なんてないよという人もその辺のお地蔵さんの頭蹴り割ったりできる人はほぼいないね。
