@Citi That’s the flag of South Korea 🇰🇷 not Japan 🇯🇵

@Citi Whaaat you mean it’s not XRP 😂but a private one that’s not owned by the public! Dont say it’s so. Lol

@Citi Cant even get the flag of Japan right 😒

@Citi The interesting bit is the liquidity angle. Cutting out the waiting time between markets is probably a much bigger deal for institutions than simply putting payments onchain.

@Citi Swift has his own : swift digital ledger.

@Citi @BSCNews used wrong flag 😂

@Citi I know you guys are foreigners, but please make sure you set the correct national flag. People can be pretty sensitive about things like this.

@Citi 💜💜💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏🙏🚀🚀🚀

@Citi Private ledger, five markets, Citi clients only. That is a faster intranet, and it is competing with stablecoins that already settle 24/7 for anyone with a wallet and no onboarding call.

@Citi Yes, which Ledger is the one 😜, Of course they all use a Ledger that contains Real daily users and transactions. with millions of KYC and KYB ⚡⚡👑

This is tokenized deposits on a permissioned ledger, not public-chain settlement — Citi Token Services into Japan, 24/7 between JP and US/UK/Singapore/HK/Ireland. The point is SWIFT-hours are the bottleneck for corporate treasurers. $6T a day still moves the old way; the $1B tokenized slice is the part that’s becoming always-on. Interoperability with SWIFT/TCH is the real test.

@Citi HERE WE GO!

@Citi Further insights on this development here:

@Citi A significant move toward faster, 24/7 blockchain-based cross-border payments in Japan.

@Citi Banks finally catching up to what crypto's always done.

@Citi U.S. Department of the Treasury • Owner; percent stake: 34% Sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia

@Citi As cross-border payments move onto blockchain rails, compliance still need to move with them. Identifying couterparties, screening transactions and monitoring activity across jurisdictions will remain essential, even when settlement becomes faster.
