Students are arriving from all corners of #Serbia, on foot, to a warm welcome in #Belgrade ahead of tomorrow’s main event, widely expected to be the largest #protest in the country’s history. #Students & citizens supporting them are demanding government accountability following the Novi Sad canopy collapse last November that killed 15. The government has not given in to the demonstrators’ demands so far. The rallies have grown into a popular uprising against the government and a movement for systemic change in Serbia.

BYC condemns the use of force against the family members of Zaheer Baloch and other peaceful protesters in the strongest terms. Today, the 11-day sit-in protest by the families of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals was attacked by the forces when they were marching towards the Red Zone. Elderly men, women, and children were subjected to brutal violence, including live firing. Dozens of protesters were taken into custody and shifted to unknown locations. For decades, the state institutions' response to peaceful demonstrations has been violence and intimidation. The forced disappearances and genocide of the Baloch people continue, and when the families and civil society protest, they are treated with cruelty, beaten, dragged, and imprisoned. After facing severe crackdown, the protesters have reorganized and continued their protest. We urge the Baloch and Pashtun people to join the protest as soon as possible and call on the judiciary to intervene in this matter to safeguard the right to peaceful assembly of these already victimized people.

Six of our team members were forced to spend the night in jail for simply denouncing the mockery of Christians by having the message "STOP ATTACKS ON CHRISTIANS" written on a bus. This is not illegal in any way, as a lawyer states: “It appears impossible to constitute the crime of failing to communicate a protest because there is no protest in the presence of one unique vehicle. The prosecutor pushed the law to its limits to stop the bus and limit their free speech. Moreover, the procedure was irregular.” In short, this is anti-Christian political and ideological persecution. #Paris2024 #Christianity

Members of the Marathi Ekikaran Samiti were detained by police on Wednesday morning after gathering at 11:30 am near Dadar Kabutarkhana to protest against the structure. The police had denied them permission for the demonstration a day earlier. Samiti leader Govardhan Deshmukh questioned why no action was taken against members of the Jain community who, last week, tore down the covering of the Kabutarkhana during their protest against the BMC’s ban on pigeon feeding. This guy began his hunger strike this morning at the CJP protest after having Junaid Bhai's bread pakoras and aloo patties But hunger is a ruthless thing. By 7 PM, he couldn't take it anymore. While ending his hunger strike, he apologized, and then went back to Junaid Bhai for samosas and kadhi chawal At least, unlike Sonam Wangchuk, he didn't do it secretly,he ate in front of everyone at the CJP protest. That's one good thing.

Galvez allegedly hurled a Molotov cocktail at L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies during last Saturday’s violent protest in Paramount.
