City budgets are public record. Spend an hour going over the latest budget before your forum. Being able to speak knowledgeably about the biggest ticket items under the council’s control is a must. Because - probably half the questions will come from there. (With the other half being about zoning and future plans) So. If there’s like a “5 year planning” document or master zoning plan, look it over too. Also, the minutes of the last 6 or so zoning meetings. That’s about the best 3 hrs of prep you can do for a forum. Most of the more pressing issues are gonna tease out from there. Good luck.

I’ve also been going to all city council meeting since filing to prepare, so that should help as well!
