I’m guessing this is my own naivety, but I have absolutely no idea how Claude can help me even in the slightest bit. It can’t visit clients for me. It can’t answer prospect’s questions. It can’t cut my lawn. It can’t cook my food. I wish I knew how it could help me. But I’m not a coder, so it really can’t help me.

What made this click for me was separating raw material from the compiled layer. If you keep articles, notes, transcripts, bookmarks, etc. as raw files, then let Claude maintain a smaller wiki on top, the whole thing stays usable.

Claude Code + Obsidian is a combo I keep seeing but haven't tried. Right now all my context lives in CLAUDE.md files per branch; 17 feature modules each with their own instructions. How does the Obsidian side feed into Claude? Like are you manually pulling relevant notes or does it pipe the vault in automatically?

What I don't understand, this connects the local files with execution over the internet. Is this then fully open for prompt injection so that you always have to consider your PC as compromised? Or is the Obsidian interface limited to text interactions?

you're running inference cost per decision somewhere in your automation. how much is that actually compounding vs just doing the work yourself over 6 months.

honestly the best planning system i ever used was a printed yearly calendar on my wall. AI second brains are cool but there's something about physically seeing 12 months at once that no tool replicates yet.

claude code + obsidian is a surprisingly good combo. been using a similar setup where i feed my notes as context and it basically becomes a personalized assistant that actually knows my projects. the karpathy wiki approach takes it even further when you structure the notes right
