The skill, tenacity and dedication is admirable but I am always disturbed and confused as to why any hands-on worker today fails to wear and use gloves? For the last fifty years, there have been gloves made for every type and purpose of occupations and they can dramatically save on injury, infection, performance and cleaning by simply wearing them. Such an easy way to protect oneself but so many people still refuse or fail to wear them.

There was a time city governments hired people to clean public places. Keep the drainage system clean, open, keep the litter out. I think in big cities , once they did away with the public works, unhoused people got comfy in one location

Root intrusion, always get a sewer scope when looking for a house. Have had sellers replace sections of their sewer for buyers because the buyers did their due diligence and had the recommended inspections done.
