Client: Arbiter x Aniplex Arbiter approached Mosaic for their new mousepad collection in collaboration with Demon Slayer. We developed a 3D showcase highlighting the three exclusive glass pads, set within an environment inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics to reflect the spirit of the series.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade (2009) draws from kabuki theater, Japanese folklore, Buddhist theology, and the real Muramasa blade legends. Its 108 Demon Blades reference Buddhist cosmology. Originally released for Wii, the 2013 PS Vita port is an enhanced version with retranslated script and four self-contained DLC stories inspired by folklore. Each features a new playable character. I made a short video to showcase Vanillaware’s beautiful work:

About a robot that became a 3D printer! 🖨️ A team of designers in Shanghai developed a groundbreaking 6-axis robotic 3D printer inspired by spiderwebs during a three-week summer workshop at Tongji University. The project sought to merge design and fabrication processes, drawing from spider threads' biomimetic strength and structure. 🕸️ The printer utilizes a unique spindle-knot extrusion technique, enabling self-supporting structures and greater spatial flexibility than traditional layer-based 3D printing. The device features a robot from KUKA and a robotic end-effector with movable printheads, controlled by an Arduino-based system with precise temperature and extrusion controls. Despite being a work in progress, the project exemplifies the potential of combining robotics and 3D printing for advanced manufacturing applications.

Excited to announce our new preprint! We developed a method to automatically extract standard 2D views from 3D echocardiography volumes. This method allows for novel approach to echo acquisition: Instead of moving the probe across patients chest in the search of standard views, a sonographer would only have to place the probe in the apical position to capture the whole snapshot of the heart, which is then decomposed into all standard views with the similar quality to the views obtained in the traditional pipeline. That way we benefit from the speed of 3D acquisition while allowing clinicians to preserve their familiar 2D interpretation workflow.
