David Letterman picked the wrong guy to tease this night. In 1992, Clint Eastwood made his final Johnny Carson appearance, with David Letterman there too. Letterman thought he was pretty cute giving Clint grief for not wearing a tie. The audience booed, and Clint’s comeback later in the interview was perfect. Lesson learned, don’t mess with Clint Eastwood. He made my day.

"Play Misty for Me" (1971) was the directorial debut for Clint Eastwood & the first scene he decided to direct in the movie was Don Siegel's cameo in the bar. As a joke, Eastwood made Don Siegel do 11 takes, then told the cameraman to put the film in the camera. When Clint Eastwood was asked why he chose this particular scene as the first, he said, "Actually, it just worked out that way. I tell everybody I did it that way because it was my first day on the set, and I wanted some body to be more nervous than I was, but actually I just started with that sequence because I wanted to start with something moderate, not too rough. We had three days scheduled for it, since it was Don’s first acting job, but we did it in a little over a day. They really should have kept the extended scene where she still considers killing him even after he lets her go. It was a way stronger scene, showed how consumed with anger and vengeance she was, how nervous Quaritch really was and was the first time Jake had to almost work with him for a moment. All things which I feel will become a bigger plot moments in the next film.
