Caleb Hammer goes off on guest after she calls Tinder date a creep for wanting to hook up. Guest: So because I was in Austin, I’m like, “Oh, let me get Tinder again to explore the area with an attractive male.” He lowkey followed me up to my hotel room. Caleb Hammer: Who? Guest: This guy from Tinder. Caleb Hammer: You met a random guy from Tinder the moment you landed in Austin? Guest: No, I did some things by myself. I actually was like going to try to just find somebody like, “Oh, let’s go to a nice food spot or something.” I’ve never been here. Caleb Hammer: Okay, so you met… Guest: Yes. Caleb Hammer: …a man… Guest: Yes. Caleb Hammer: Okay. Guest: …and then he was trying to hook up with me and I was like, “No, I’m not like that anymore.” And then I lowkey kicked him out. Caleb Hammer: This is… this is so interesting. Ladies and gentlemen, have you followed what she just said? I’m going to show you, unfortunately, the modern young woman in grand display. She went around with a lot of guys and hooked up. Okay, that’s good. She consented to it, they consented to it. Then she flew here in Austin, chose to meet up with a guy, the guy wanted to hook up, and she just made him sound like a creep for coming with her to the hotel and trying to hook up. Guest: Well, we were walking around in public and then I’m like, “Oh, do you want to walk me…” Like, he was just standing there near me at the elevators. I’m like, “Are you going to walk me up?” And he’s like, “I don’t care.” And then I was like, “I’m just going to go,” and he just followed me a bit. Caleb Hammer: Do you not understand what you just said? You were like, “Do you…” You wanted him to walk you up and stuff. Guest: I didn’t! I was just trying to go up. Caleb Hammer: What did you just… You are the modern young woman! You guys are broken. The moment you guys want to hook up, it’s totally good. But if a guy wants to hook up, it’s creepy and weird. You know you can just say no and move on with your life.

Will Ferrell says a fan told him, “You’re no Larry David,” then doubled down by saying he wasn’t even close, prompting him to tell her to “shut up.” Will Ferrell: I did have this amazing experience… I was at a restaurant, I was walking to the bathroom, and I just happened to be in lockstep with this woman who looks up and is like, “Oh, hi! How are you?” And I’m like, “I’m fine.” She’s like, “Oh gosh, great to meet you.” I’m like, “Thank you.” She’s like, “Uh, you’re very funny.” And I’m like, “Well, that’s very nice of you.” She’s like, “But you’re no Larry David.” Josh Horowitz: (Laughs.) Will Ferrell: And I go, “Oh, well, yeah. He…” Well, hey, I… and I kind of chuckle. I’m like, “Are you kidding me? He’s one of the best. He’s a king.” She’s like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Anyway, she goes to the bathroom, I go to the men’s room. I don’t know, somehow I come out, she comes out at the same time. She wasn’t waiting for me, it literally… and then she picks up right where she’s like, “I’m serious, you’re no Larry David.” Josh Horowitz: Wasn’t a joke? She wasn’t just saying… Will Ferrell: Like, “You’re not even close to him.” And then I’m like… I was like, “Okay, oh, we’re going there.” Because I do have the ability to stand up for myself that’s surprising to people, so I was like, “You know what? I get it. You like Larry David. Why don’t you go back to your table and shut up?” Josh Horowitz: (Laughs.) Will Ferrell: And she’s like, “Ah!” And then I just was like, “Pew!” Josh Horowitz: I love to imagine, like… Will Ferrell: Yeah, it was hilarious. And then I was like, “Okay, if you’re going to really keep it up, then I’ll get back in your face. Like, I get it, you like Larry David. I do too. You made your point. Shut up.” [Laughter] Will Ferrell: And then she was taken… like, and I know she was back, so I know the B-side of that was like, “I just met that Buddy the Elf, he’s an asshole.” Josh Horowitz: Like, for context, she was an asshole twice! (Laughs.) She doubled down. Will Ferrell: “I just told him I love Larry…” Her version is probably like, “I just told him I love Larry David.” Josh Horowitz: Yeah. Yeah.

Akon says he risked his label on Lady Gaga by giving her “Just Dance” instead of the Pussycat Dolls “Lady Gaga was already at Interscope when I got there. She was an artist there. But at the time, I don’t know what Interscope was going to do with her because she was there for a minute. She walks in with these all gold leotards and stuff, looking like she’s from the ’80s. And I was like, ‘Damn.’ She was already different. Then after speaking with her and talking to her, I’m like this bitch is mad talented. So we write the record. She goes in to demo the song out. I’m looking like, ‘Yo, this bitch is a star’” “She comes out. I was like, ‘What’s the situation.’ She’s like, ‘Well, I’m at Interscope. I’m not quite sure.’ I said, ‘Okay, give me a second.’ So I called Jimmy. I said, ‘What’s up with this Lady Gaga chick?’ He’s like, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘I think I want to sign her.’ He said, ‘Take her.’ I said, ‘I could have her?’ He said, ‘Yeah, she’s all yours.’ Then, mind you, we’ve got a smash-hit record. I said, ‘Yo, Jimmy, we’ve got the record.’ I’m going back in. He’s thinking we’re playing the record for the Pussycat Dolls, but at that point, when he told me I could have Gaga, I’m like we working on her album” “We go in there, and we’re playing this record, ‘Just Dance.’ He’s going crazy. He’s like, ‘Oh my God, this is it. We got the fucking one. We got it.’ The whole time, he’s thinking this record is the perfect record for the Pussycat Dolls. The music stops. He said, ‘Thank you man. The Pussycat Dolls are going to love this record.’ I said, ‘Jimmy, this record is for Gaga.’ He said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Yes, it’s for Gaga.’ He said, ‘Okay, make me understand this.’ I said, ‘Jimmy, listen. The Pussycat Dolls are already a global smash art. They’re a piece of art. All they need is one record. I’ll make a million of them. I’ll make another one for them” “He said, ‘It’s not good enough.’ I said, ‘Listen to this record again one more time.’ We played the record. I said, ‘This record will make you another Pussycat Doll, or possibly even bigger. This is a record that breaks a new artist, not keeps a new artist popping.’ He thought about it. He said, ‘Would you put your label on that?’ I said, ‘Yeah. If this record doesn’t work, you can drop me.’ And you let me go with it. That was probably the best decision we collectively made together”
