Cloud streets are parallel, organized rows of low-level cumulus clouds that stretch across the sky in the direction of the wind. They form when cool air moves over a warmer surface, creating rising columns of air called thermals.

This is called Clear Air Turbulence, or CAT. No clouds, but the air is still bumpy because of: -Jet streams up high.. these fast rivers of wind (over 100-200 knots) slamming into slower air, creating invisible wind shear. -Mountain waves... wind blowing over mountains sends turbulence way up into the clear sky, even far away. -Gravity waves and air mass changes.. temperature shifts and different air layers causing hidden bumps. Wouldn't it be great if planes had better tech to actually see these waves ahead, like advanced LIDAR systems they're testing? The plane handles it fine , but keep your seatbelt on.

Tesla’s VP of vehicle engineering Lars says to bend the Cybertruck’s tough steel, they had to invent a process called air bending, where they float the tool on an air hockey like table device and blow really high pressure air so that tool floats over the surface and isn’t actually touching the surface when it’s bending it. They often appear ragged and can rise rapidly. A scud cloud like this can exhibit some spinning or twisting because of turbulent air or localized wind shear. This rotation is usually shallow, disorganized, and does not indicate a tornado is forming. Remember, motion alone doesn’t make a tornado. Rotation alone doesn’t make a tornado. Called the #Tehuantepec Wind, or Tehuanos, they are violent, northerly gap winds that blow from the Gulf of Mexico through the Chivela Pass in southern Mexico into the Pacific Ocean. They are caused by cold air squeezing and accelerating through the narrow gap and down the mountains. The winds early this week reached over #hurricane force - 85 mph - creating a wicked wind firehose, dangerous/ steep seas and driving upwelling, with impacts often felt over 1,000 miles away into the Pacific.
