In a normal country the blame would’ve been on the roadways minister like Gadkari @nitin_gadkari , but this being India we will debate endless reasons.

@nitin_gadkari Infra + Highway Driving Skills both need a check! Highway driving looks more City 40kmph skills…

@nitin_gadkari It only narrows down to RTO driving license scams and poor law enforcement. But when roads are broken n poorly maintained, even law abiding citizens can’t follow rules. In this case he was overtaking a slow moving truck. Hit by a truck in wrong lane.

@nitin_gadkari Chaos!

The 1st two bumps were created to warn him but he didn't. Was he looking for right chance to move to other lane ?

At times when i come across such driving, when road ahead not visible, more blocked vision due to container… or any vehicle bigger than ours… people ride or drive with assumption with city driving skills forgetting that high speed riding/driving… people need to maintain min 3sec gap, analyse road ahead & surface conditions + to also help with hazard detection & time to react…

Scooter guy was subjected to natural selection on what looks like a highway. Foregone outcome the way he was driving amidst HCVs. Scooters < 12 bhp + no disc brakes should be banned from major highways. They're the almost as bad as autos.

About scooters 👇

Yes, absolutely 💯. Don't forget terrible braking! They're the worst to take on highways where all automobiles should be able to accelerate to 80 kph very quickly. Same with low power bikes like Splendor or Discover. Only modern scooters with 14" can be kinda ridden safely on LHS

True.

The bike rider was clearly suicidal and the bus driver was clearly murderous. Made for each other. Everyone is playing Russian Roulette 🤷♂️ @DriveSmart_IN

@DriveSmart_IN More often people get into clusters at high speed with blocked vision especially behind container lorries… road ahead not visible, people tailgating without any knowledge on surface conditions/hazards ahead…👇all under assumptions with city driving expertise…

@motordave2 just for reference, this seems like some third world country. But just see the quality of road. In India this video wouldn’t have proceeded beyond the first 10-15 seconds and he would’ve been downed by a pothole mine planted by our designers.

Probably nose diving exp on pothole 🤷♂️

Some problem with two wheelers. They kinda think small scooters can overtake

Scooter not well balanced due to rear engine… more weight at rear than front…slight frontal impact, rider cannot control the scooter… it’s only good to commute within city limits, not on fast routes…motorcycles are well balanced that way and heavier the motorcycle, better control & balancing… Also read 👇

I agree with all the cluster driving and tailgating analysis for obvious safety reasons. But are we going to completely ignore the potholes on the national highway which caused this accident? Shouldn’t citizens be able to sue NHAI and govt for that road?

My table lamp has better survival instincts than the guy on scooter

Always keep your bike in the extreme left lane on a highway/expressway. Avoid the overtaking lane unless you are making a U-turn. Be sure to shoulder check before changing lanes.

Very disturbing visuals. Safe distance and proper visibility are so important on the road. A few extra seconds can make a huge difference. Please drive safe

Absolutely!

Scooty rider thinking - Main to side se nikal jaunga..mujhe kya. God said - side se nikal ke upar aja... One feels sad for idiots as well..but well they are idiots for a reason.

This is why 2 wheelers should always be on the left Especially scooters as they are easy to lose control of!

True. 2 wheelers should maintain safe following distance gap from the vehicle ahead + follow either left side or right side tyre/Tailamp of 4 wheeler. During peak summer, tarmac melts… and when HCV’s rolls on with load, like for example near Krishnagiri climb/NICE era Tarmac time… it’s very difficult to balance a 2 wheeler especially around the white lines…even those white paint - white lines won’t let tyres to grip well…

If it was any other country Family would have sued the govt and road contractors and got settled for life But guys like you blame the poor guy

We are taking about how can one escape from similar scenarios knowing the fact that many places infra issues at times over hot sun, tarmac melts… again balancing issues around white lines…

What iam saying is there shouldn't be such issues Where unis the warning sign

Yes. Both infra & highway driving skills needs to be focussed in India, else a mess…

Its the road to be blamed.. cluster driving is not culprit here

Way too close to heavy vehicles, highway obviously you need to go fast, heavy vehicles should follow left lane, if one is overtaking the other, have patience and then overtake Not surprised by pathetic quality road in India, and tail gating a heavy vehicle, predictable outcome

Blame the Authorities also… why Potholes on Roads? Why Not Fix them Next day? put Local Authorities accountable for Not Informing …

If the helmet comes off rolling like that in the video it’s pretty much done.

Why no is complaining about the road? He would have been safe if the road was good.

What can't 2 wheeler keep to the left most lane for their own safety of life..Don't understand that weird mindset of coming on the right most lane...Typical driving culture and mindset of districts, semi urban and rural areas..careless driving!!

Who tries to overtake when the next lane is already occupied with an automatic scooter?

2W should be banned from highways. But then nearly 50% of vehicles on highways are 2W.

Scooter matching speed of lorry/bus/car on highway is a danger in itself!

License to anyone will be the same result that scoter guy was reckless he should go completely to left definitely guy got his license through bribe

Ohh mannn... Exact scenario happened to me in 2018, but I was in my Apache 180 dual abs.. followed a van closely.. saw the pothole (a big narrow well) in split second, suddenly managed to stand in knees to avoid spine injury, left with right knee minor injury, managed not to fell.

Two wheeler had no business to move to right lane. Blame two wheeler ! There must be total ban on insurance claims if two wheelers suffer accident in right lane.

as usual the helmet flies off

Bad roads lead to accidents....over take if you have clear view on highway

Absolutely!

He wanted to go between the two trucks, slowed down a bit due to the bad road, suicidal

Why 2 wheeler think that driving on Highway is like driving in city road. If ever any 2 wheeler want to drive on highway, there is a patch available for then still they drive on fast lane competing with heavy vehicle. Scooter divers fault, dashcam saved life.

the more you look this video the more you realise that most driver don't value their own life... I would never come in such a risky play between 2-3 heavy vehicles where my vision is blocked and i have no room for emergency breaks...

omg, scary, i am sure he didnt survive

Doesn’t look like, helmet probably also not strapped…

these trucks also running at same speed no one increasing more or decreasing little bit throttle what a mindset😟😟

Life is cheap in India - most road deaths are self inflicted because of bad roads, bad behaviour or NO training! Easily 95% paid a bribe for their license

The cause of accident is pothole, other factors are very negligible

WE Can Have100 Complaints about ROADS Etc BUT NOW Man is DEAD-MEAT His family thinks he's gone to office His Manager/Co thinks he's coming to office BUT he's gone into COFFIN=>What for ? SELF-Preservation 1st, Actions with Lowest RISK to SELF must be our MANTRA
