Because this is not just a war between two states, Russia and Ukraine, it is a war between two systems: authoritarianism and democracy. Peace is not made only on paper. Peace has to be made on the ground. And peace is not Russian occupation. Very often, I find myself in a weird situation where I have to convince someone that people in Ukraine want peace... Are you serious? People in Ukraine dream of peace. We simply do not want to be occupied by Russia. Because peace does not mean occupation. Occupation means disappearance, torture, rape, the denial of identity, the forcible adoption of children, filtration camps, and mass graves. So when we use the word "peace," we have to speak about freedom - the freedom to live without fear of violence and to have a long-term perspective for the future. This is peace.

I thank all partners who help us to achieve this. I thank every leader who communicates with others so that they join the Peace Summit and have their say. Today's world is one of majority, with no one having the right to impose anything on other countries. Especially with the use of violence. Everyone matters equally and every nation equally deserves respect. This is what our Peace Formula is all about. It benefits every nation. The Peace Summit provides an opportunity to demonstrate, through action rather than words, who truly supports equal rights around the world. Today I addressed the Swiss Parliament Parl CH to say that we are not a source of aggression, not a territory of war, and not some kind of conflict zone. We are a country that has always valued and will always value peace. Our peace can only withstand such aggression by force of arms. I know that 🇨🇭 is having a discussion about permits to re-export weapons to protect 🇺🇦. And I want every participant in the discussion to remember one fact: we are asking the world for weapons to make our 🇺🇦 territory a territory of peace again. All our land, all our people... Only for this! Exactly as envisaged by international law.
