CNN: Does Powell saying tariffs will likely increase inflation and slow down growth give you pause about whether these tariffs are worth it? REP. LISA McCLAIN: No, it doesn't. I think the operative word Chairman Powell used there is "temporary"

Um. That’s not what he said.

Here’s what could get more expensive with Trump’s new tariffs.

This is like asking a CULT member what they think of the CULT? Of course McClain was going to minimize what Powell said and defend Trump.

So when Trump said day one, he actually meant one day? 🤨

“Temporary” inflation and slowed growth still hurt real people, especially working families already stretched thin. And if unaddressed, could lead to longterm recession and pains. Rep. McClain’s dismissal shows how out of touch she is. Powell is warning us: these tariffs aren’t surgical, they’re a blunt disruptive force. And pretending the pain doesn’t matter just because it’s “temporary” is economic malpractice and intellectual dishonesty.

Did this idiot miss the part where Powell said it could be more persistent?

“Temporary” doesn’t mean harmless, especially when the damage hits workers, farmers, and retirees.

Egg prices are down? Would you please tell Shoprite and Stop and Shop...It's NOT happening where I live. What gives?

It’s destructive for businesses, it’s destructive for the overall global economy and it’s VERY destructive to the middle class and below as the price increases will disproportionately impact this segment of the population relative to the wealthy.

Powell's warning on tariffs hiking inflation and slowing growth is brushed off by Rep. McClain, who calls it "temporary." This ignores long-term risks, higher costs hit consumers hard, and growth lags could linger. Tariffs sound tough but often backfire.

No, why would it? But is Powell manipulating the Bond and stock markets?
