This is Moko. 🐻 She was hit on the head on Route 117 through La Vérendrye and the driver did not stop. 😭 She was concussed, blind, and so still they thought that first night was it, but gave her all they could anyways ! She surprised us all 🤯 It was not her last night!!! Stay for the door opening. Watch her run back to freedom in her forest ! That is the part that gets me. 💙 Moko has the same story as too many animals on the road. She was badly concussed and walking in circles. People from Kitcisakik 🙏and a trucker 🫡 stayed with her so she would not go back onto the pavement. Conservation officers were an hour away. The community did not wait. They got her into a crate and brought her to Refuge, the wildlife rescue near me. When she arrived she was worse. Limp. Not responding. Blind. That first night they really did not think she would make it through the night. She was still there in the morning. Then she moved. Then her senses came back. 😳🙏 Then she turned shy of people again, which is exactly what you want in a black bear you hope to send home.!!! Weeks for the skull to heal. Then one last exam, one last ride, and the man who helped pull her off that road on July 22 opened the door. I cried like a baby at the beauty of this release. This is Dr. Amy Acton, the Democrat candidate for Governor. In 2019, there was a police visit to her home after she and her husband apparently got into a drunken domestic dispute. According to the police record, after drinking and taking an unknown amount of medication, she allegedly pulled a mirror off the wall, and was about to start driving until her husband talked her out of it. A medic was dispatched to the scene and advised that Acton be taken to the hospital to get checked out, but she declined. At the time, she was the director of the Ohio Department of Health. This is not a person who should be leading anything, except maybe an AA meeting.

This tiny New York City apartment, 80 x 150, goes for $650 a month! 🤯 She has no oven and her bed is up a ladder and there is about two to three feet of space from the bed to the ceiling. Her bathroom is actually outside the apartment down the hall. She has to walk past her neighbors to get to it. She goes up on the roof outside to get some space, do some work and maybe a little yoga. This woman lives in an HOA. The back of her yard backs up into an easement that is owned by the HOA. The trees back there are on the easement. She points out that there are fallen branches all over her neighbors yard because of the trees and there were many in her yard as well. So she and her children went and picked up all the branches and sticks in her yard and then she piled them up under the tree. She said since the tree is on the HOA easement, it’s their problem. She wants to know if she is the bad guy in all this. If it were me, I’d maintain my yard and put the branches and sticks out for the trash pickup.
