I want reparations from Italy for when us white Brits were enslaved by the Romans. I guess the Romans will want reparations for when they were taken to Africa in to enslavement. And so on.

My understanding is we learned about slavery from the chefs of African tribes. The British Empire Abolished slavery which in many African countries continues to this day.

The British government paid reparations to white slave owners in 1835 for the loss of their black property following the abolition of slavery. The reparation was 20 billion, funded by a loan that was not fully paid off until 2015. No money was paid to the enslaved black people

Of course, they don’t mention that it was other African tribes who captured and sold them into slavery. Or the Arab traders who bought millions more and castrated them. And they conveniently forget that it was the West that abolished the slave trade, ended slavery, and pressured every other country to do the same. Because they don’t actually care about slavery. It’s an eternal grift to shake down the West for more and more money. Which is why the target audience of this reenactment is the leftist who will give them everything they want and more.

Talking about the UK & Scotland's role in slavery doesn't make you anti-British or anti-Scottish. We should teach children our history, the good, bad & ugly. And yes, that also means talking about reparations, not trying to shut down the conversation about reparatory justice.
