Only yesterday, senior military commanders were reported to have warned Hegseth that the Iran operation is placing growing strain on U.S. readiness around the world. Now the civilian leader of the Army has resigned after reportedly warning that the service's transformation and readiness were being undermined from within the Pentagon:

This sucks. He was one of the few good and competent people in this administration. He fought good fights professionally behind the scenes. I don’t like the potential direction of the Army without him.

Driscoll was pushing a faster, tech-driven Army focused on battlefield readiness. Hegseth was increasingly focused on loyalty, hierarchy and control, firing key leaders and overruling Driscoll’s personnel decisions. This gets Hegseth fired after the midterms.

Hegseth must be about to do some horrifying illegal shit again

Hegseth 2016 - “If you’re doing something that is just completely unlawful and ruthless, then there is a consequence for that. That’s why the military said it won’t follow unlawful orders from their commander in chief.” Maybe that’s why he resigned 🤔

WSJ reported this two weeks ago. Fox now says he submitted it, but the White House hasn’t accepted it yet.
