CNN’s Dana Bash: “It was July 4, and the Reflecting Pool was closed.” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum: “It was closed because it's surrounded by fireworks. It's closed every year on the Fourth of July.” Dana Bash: “But it was closed prior to that in order to fix the Reflecting... show more

![CNN’s Dana Bash: “In May, the president's armored motorcade of SUVs, which can weigh up to 20,000 pounds, drove across that new coating of the Reflecting Pool's floor. Could that have damaged it?” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum: “No. I was with him when we came that night. He didn't take the beast. We were driving in a Cadillac Escalade. It is one of the presidential fleet of cars, but substantially lighter than what you're talking about. And at the time that we were there, they were still putting down — the whole base level of this industrial rubber layer was not yet completed, and so there was no damage that night whatsoever.” “That was one of the questions we asked before we even brought the presidential motorcade there, but not a chance of that [causing damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool].”](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2073858497930764401/amplify_video_thumb/2073858311917555712/img/Pui0jpFT0AFkdBMf.jpg)
![🚨 NOW: Interior Sec. Doug Burgum UNLEASHES on the Democrats who keep whining about President Trump's restoration of the filthy Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool "This thing has been FAILING, 40,000 gallons per day that's [leaking] out of this thing!" "That's MILLIONS in a year!" "We took out 2.5 MILES worth of rotting seam material that connects to different components in the base of the pool for where these expansion joints are." "There's been a lot of, I don't want to call it mocking, maybe it's just misunderstanding about the color. The color, American flag blue, is meant to enhance the reflectivity. It's called the REFLECTING POOL." "It's not a look to the bottom and see how deep it is pool. It's a reflecting pool, and anyone that is, from the experts in the city, you know, if you want to have a reflecting pool in some kind of fountain or some kind of place around the world, you want to have a dark base on the color." "There was a time in history when this reflecting pool was actually asphalt black." "It's the same blue as the navy blue, it's an American flag. So it's the appropriate color choice, and I think when it's completed, people are going to see that, again, 47 million people come to the National Mall every year." Perfectly said.](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2054605451464225199/amplify_video_thumb/2054604741854822400/img/ypjogksblo3dCCeN.jpg)
![🚨 NOW: Sec. Doug Burgum just DEBUNKED Democrats' lies that President Trump "damaged" the Reflecting Pool — not leftists — by driving his motorcade over it "It was substantially lighter [than the Beast]. They were still putting down the base level of the rubber layer, there was NO damage that night whatsoever. We asked that before we brought the motorcade there." 💯](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2073777506553864363/amplify_video_thumb/2073777387276238848/img/gJhNGbTFYVe-h6os.jpg)
