🏒 Start Practice with 12 Player Game! 🚨 The Buffalo Sabres started Day 2 of their Dev Camp with a fun & competitive 12 person small area game. A great way to get the whole team engaged early in practice. ➡️ The game was 3 v 3 in the middle and each team had 3 bumper players in their offensive zone, essentially making it a 6 v 3 when having possession. Bumper players could pass, shoot, and defend but could not enter the playing area. ♻️ After a rep, the bumper players rotated to the middle to play 3 v 3, and the players that were playing the 3 v 3 game in the middle rotated out. 🙌 Thank you to the Buffalo Sabres for having dev camp open to the public to let coaches, players, and fans learn.

My #SundayShare is 2 v 1 practice looking at forward passing and movement to receive. A key task is off the ball movement - players must time their run to receive in the central channel (which defenders cannot enter) to progress to the final third. Coaching points: · Positioning to receive: ideally on the half turn. · Movement off the ball: looking for space and angles to receive. · Decision-making: timing of runs and the pass. · Technique – weight of pass; also angle. · Creativity: core moves, especially blind side runs, diagonal run/straight ball and vice versa. Progression: 2nd defender can enter the zone. Nice first pre-season session with the U11 on Fri. #SundayShare The Sporting Resource #2v1

Game Speed Layups With The Kentucky Drill Layups can make or break a game. The problem is that in practice sometimes players don’t go full speed when doing their layups. This drill from The Buzz Half Court Trapping Defense from coach Kevin Furtado fixes that. The goal is 27 layups in one minute. We strongly believe that you ca hold your players accountable to exceptionally high standards without making them run suicides! 🙌 A lot of coaches use these traditional methods due to insecurities in their own coaching. If players are "misbehaving" in a practice, we believe it's due to a failure in the learning environment created by the coach.
