College sports are being pulled apart by transfer chaos, constant litigation, shady NIL deals, disappearing rivalries, and a broken system that is leaving student athletes, schools, and fans without clear rules or real protections. There is an urgent need for Congress to step in on NIL compensation. You ought to be able to receive the fruits of your labor, so I believe we should protect the rights of student athletes to receive NIL compensation. At the same time, there should be some system of rules, so compensation doesn’t spiral out of control and bankrupt school programs.

I introduced The HUSTLE Act with Rep. Brendan Boyle to help student-athletes invest their NIL earnings and build long-term financial stability. Student-athletes shouldn’t have to choose between preparing for the future and focusing on the classroom. This is about making sure the opportunity they worked for actually follows them beyond the field or court. I look forward to working with Sam Acho on this issue!

Parnas: Well, I was told I had to get real, authentic Mexican food when I was out in L.A., so I made it a point to do that. And I went and got nacho fries, which is real and authentic. And then, number two, I mean, boots-on-the-ground journalism. I think there are a lot of people on the internet who think that I’m just an aggregator and a mouthpiece. The NCAA is bracing for “blind transfers,” where a player transfers without ever entering the portal. 🤯 👉 With the spring portal window gone, the NCAA expects more of these moves and is discussing major penalties for schools that take them, including a 6-game head coach suspension, fines tied to the football budget, and loss of roster spots. But how can these penalties be enforced when the current contracts do not employ players to be athletes? They are just NIL deals… 🤷‍♂️ Thats’s why at Athletes.org we’re building the first players association for college athletes, because the only way to fix this is to give the athletes the seat at the table that they deserve. 🤝

Saban called on lawmakers to fix issues he has seen at the collegiate level, where Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have turned the focus away from education. "When I received a little bit of NIL money, I knew I had to do something for my city as much as they have done for me." How amazing is this? Former Malvern Leopard and current Kansas Jayhawk Jalen Dupree decided to give back his NIL money to the football program at Malvern and the boys' and girls' club. People talk about all the negatives of NIL, but here's a positive: an athlete giving back to the community because of it 🥲

I get it … “THESE KIDS ARE NO LONGER KIDS ONCE THEY ACCEPT THESE 6-7 FIGURE DEALS”, but let’s relax a little bit. If you were a former D1 athlete, you know how much of a grind college was and how much better the experience would’ve been with some extra bread in your pocket! So I have no issue with these kids getting paid, but I do think there needs to be some type of regulation to stop teams from poaching & to stop kids from jumping ship while pocketing money on a deal they didn’t follow through with. Here’s a quick little story on how my era and the athletes before me walked so the athletes today can SPEND, I mean run ! 😂✌🏽 #NIL #BrokeAF #BornAtTheWrongTime
