My dad was my coach at one time, and I swear he said almost the same thing. They ain't your friends from when the game starts until it ends😂

My kids first t-ball game we had parents in the stands pissed we weren’t using the physically more mature “pitcher” to run all over the field making plays so our team could win…my husband finally lost his shit with the bitching and turned and told the crowd they could either learn to play right or they could take their kids and go….he also had no problem telling those kids you lost, you didn’t play well and the other team beat you…man parents would get so stinking mad 🤣…a few moved to other teams but the ones that had knew my husband growing up were just sat back and enjoyed the show. By the next year our team was throwing players out at first, short stop knew when to make the play with second backing him up etc. and playing their positions (as well as 4-5-6 year olds can). They had worked on having nice little swings and more importantly- they all had so much stinking fun. I totally get this humor and while it is a skit- don’t ever hesitate to not have a Coach like this- you will generally find they are the best ones

Too young for that, that coach is wrong. I hope one of the fathers hears what he’s saying one day.

Here’s a better version. I coached little league with a friend who was a retired pro-bowl QB. He’d always say in the pre season parent meeting: “It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about having fun. Losing isn’t fun.”

At this age, it is about learning. It would be a better game with no coach, let the kids play. They can keep score themselves and they know when they win or lose.
