Define practicing set pieces.... Teaching the kids the basics of taking/defending corners is practicing set pieces and that starts young. Working up a clever short corner routine that's much older....

Always, even at the younger age groups where they can’t header the ball. Attacking and defending set pieces trains aspects of the game such as movement, marking & taking quick actions under pressure which can help in non set piece moments as well. And of course will give a head start for set pieces when they are older

My daughter is 20 and I never saw Arlington SA once practices a set piece! Definitely should give it some attention after the transition to the full field but training time is precious. Get those touches

Fundamentals, straight away more or less. They need to know how it works, then detail in time Kids also like learning things and set piece day is a fun variation to the routine Give them the chance to create their own little plans to try out on a match day

Soon as possible. What differs is the importance and the frequency with which it is done by age to age.

As soon as they are playing. Kids can’t head the ball so teach them to play. Short corner always!

Early. Esp since u8 and under might not have a single player who can elevate a ball with distance.

High school coach here. And we practice them daily. “Be creative” is the mantra.
