If you ever get tired of managing your Codex threads, just let Codex manage itself! Codex can now create threads, search them, organize them, pin the important ones, and spin up worktrees for parallel tasks.

The wait is over... for your responses that is. Now, when you ask a question in the Chat box, the reply will appear as it's generated (instead of all at once). This will reduce wait time *and* make your conversation flow smoother. Hey! There's no such thing as small launches.

Really loved this conversation with ashe. Ashe is one of the most original and creative builders in the community. We talked about building in public, relational intelligence, second brains, and how you can just build things with Codex. Full episode out later this week!

We’ve been quietly building a new sidebar — and it’s now opt-in for everyone! It’s a smoother way to move through your workspace: content, threads, notifications, all of it. You’ll have to see for yourself. Flip it on, give it a day or two, then tell us what you think as we continue to improve it.

2 quality-of-life improvements for developers working with Codex today: Codex background agents now have stable pixel identicons. When the same agent shows up across tabs, mentions, transcripts, and the thread panel, it’s easier to recognize at a glance.

This is one of the games made with GPT-6 Astra that I found on Combos Fun. I’ve put the playable link below. For anyone building games in Codex, there’s another useful part here: getting your game online and finding people to play it. Combos CLI lets you publish from Codex to Combos, share a link with friends, and put your game in a community where others can discover and play it. You can use image and audio models through the same account too.
