Cold exists. Not everything has to be scientific. I feel cold, I don't feel absense of heat. As a symbolic primitive, it helps me to make sense of the world. And anything below 15 degrees celcius is quite universally cold to most humans.

He's not even precise enough here. Cold for a human is not the absence of heat but the difference in temperature between your body and the environment. Like if your body is cold, cold water can feel warm, it just needs to be a little warmer than your body for that.
