Apparently a huge hit in the Spanish market, the game concept and mechanics are more or less a carbon copy of the original Age of Empires. Harvesting food, collecting wood, stone and gold all sound famiar? Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Maybe I am being a bit harsh. RTS games were, after all, pretty much all built on the same principle - gather resources, build stuff, climb the tech tree, train an army and squash your enemy. Tzar: The Burden of the Crown definitely won't win an Oscar for most innovative game, but had its own little niche of fans. Raise your hand if you played this little "gem"... or let's settle on "quartz", that's a bit more fitting.
