College degrees are completely useless

To this young woman and all the others like her : Degrees can mean something or they can mean nothing. The universities that you are holding up are Rider and West Chester. Not exactly hard to get into. For the same amount of money you could have gotten into schools that had better reputations for excellence if your grades were better. Idk what major you chose, but based upon the fact that you don’t have a plan or a direction after the fact leads me to believe that you didn’t put much effort into planning up front. Planning ahead is the best way to ensure a better outcome not only in this case but throughout life. Now you have no job but you turn your nose up at a potential job. With that attitude you will never get a job. Employers don’t pay out because you are special. They pay you if you can do something they need you to do. A job is not about you, it’s about THEM. And if you will do what THEY want and need. If you are not willing to answer calls for them then you are not willing to try to see what it might lead to. You are not seeing it as an opportunity for you to show someone the special skills that you have that might qualify you to be worth more to THEM. After all, they have the money. You want it. Welcome to the working world where your employer is the boss. If you persist in thinking that they should fall all over you and offer you money for skills that you have not demonstrated are useful to them, you will be sitting in that same chair for a long time. You might be the most brilliant person in the world with degrees from the best schools but if you have a cr*ppy entitlement attitude you are unemployable. One last word to the wise- no matter what profession you go into, you go into politics.
