Malawi is one of the most poorest countries in the world, yet the Malawian President, Lazarus Chakwera, bussed thousands of people, paid them K2,000 each, and gave each one of them a T-shirt when he returned from attending the United Nations General Assembly in exchange for these people marching shouting his name on the road as he drove from the airport. What is this nonsense, Africans? You see, as long as Africans continue with this kind of silliness, Africa is going nowhere and few people will take it seriously. This is why the rest of the progressive world laughs at us courtesy of people like President Chakwera. The biggest economy in Africa is South Africa, have you ever seen President Cyril Ramaphosa doing such comical things? He simply goes to the airport, boards his plane quietly, and when he comes back, there is no fanfare, he just returns and goes home. What Chakwera is doing is stuff that happens with unsophisticated and crude dictators like Mnangagwa not someone who came into power on a change ticket. This is what tinpot dictators like Mobutu Sese Seko used to do 50 years ago. Do you understand why the world thinks of us as uncivilised, it is because of such comical leaders in our midst? People gather in their thousands each time the president leaves or returns to the country, this is the image we are selling to the rest of the world. It is so embarrassing and demeans us as Africans because it shows that all these people are unemployed, they have no jobs to go to. We can surely do better than this embarrassing stuff! We want to be able to sit on the world’s top table, but how can we when we are doing foolish stuff like this! Malawi’s GDP is only US$13.4 billion and its GDP per capita is only US$480, it is depressingly poor yet Chakwera is doing this kindergarten stuff? Sad! Shouldn’t he be focused on this serious issue instead of these silly parades?

In this video, a UK Indian restaurant owner and his partner are standing up against people who are pressurizing them to change their menu. They clearly state that they do not sell Halal food and they will not be forced to switch to it just because of pressure. The owners show damage to their shop and mention that this is the third attack in the last two weeks, where people have pelted their shop with eggs. The owner is very angry and says that no matter how much they are bullied or harassed, he will continue to sell non-Halal food. They claim that these attackers are trying to provoke them, but they won't be intimidated and will keep running their business their own way.

The absolute highlight of my day… 🥘 I feed 80 personally myself with all home cooked food ⏰ Most of them are out waiting for their food as dogs are great timekeepers 🛵 Some of them go by the pitch of the engine and hear it coming 🦊 Plenty of the dogs like Mr Fox in this video love the attention as much as the food. 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ I provide this home cooked food to other volunteers and shelters around the island. 🥰 People always ask me why I wouldn’t outsource this part and save myself 90 mins each day of driving around. The answer is that it is like pure joy to me and it keeps me close to the bigger problem and ensures I never lose sight of that. Also it’s just the fact that they make me feel like a celebrity of superhero with all their welcomes arriving each day. The best feeling ever 🙏
