This was a fun one to implement because I've also (afai consciously know) never seen "gradient" selections like this. The ::selection pseudo element doesn't support anything other than flat color so, on selection we sample the height the selected element is sitting at against the matching current state of the noise gradient on the right. We then relight that color down in lightness with oklab for better contrast in light/dark modes. This gets recalculated on scroll.y for a nice effect as you scroll the page up/down that makes the whole thing feel like its living the mood shift. Here's a video of this all playing out in the debug tooling we made:

Everyone's support of our customizable model has been so encouraging and pushes me to learn more, not just as a 3D artist, but also as a programmer! 🩷 Unlike a live2D customizable model, there's no existing framework for a customizable 3D model. I had to learn how to code in each slider, parameter, color picker, and asset selection menu. I continue to push myself with every update I post here! -^u^- Now, the body sliders no longer cause clipping, each individual clothing item has their own parameters to prevent clipping! 💕 The arms, shoulders, and wrists are also now more effected by the plus size slider.✨ And I made a slider for the face/neck, but I haven't coded it in yet. These new features (along with a lot more!) will all be available for free in our first update!🩷

T2I-CompBench: A Comprehensive Benchmark for Open-world Compositional Text-to-image Generation paper page: Despite the stunning ability to generate high-quality images by recent text-to-image models, current approaches often struggle to effectively compose objects with different attributes and relationships into a complex and coherent scene. We propose T2I-CompBench, a comprehensive benchmark for open-world compositional text-to-image generation, consisting of 6,000 compositional text prompts from 3 categories (attribute binding, object relationships, and complex compositions) and 6 sub-categories (color binding, shape binding, texture binding, spatial relationships, non-spatial relationships, and complex compositions). We further propose several evaluation metrics specifically designed to evaluate compositional text-to-image generation. We introduce a new approach, Generative mOdel fine-tuning with Reward-driven Sample selection (GORS), to boost the compositional text-to-image generation abilities of pretrained text-to-image models. Extensive experiments and evaluations are conducted to benchmark previous methods on T2I-CompBench, and to validate the effectiveness of our proposed evaluation metrics and GORS approach.

Prototyped another iteration of a hand-tracking-based BoxelXR toolbar. This time, it's a circular menu spawned in front of a user once the index pinch is triggered. Notes: 1) It works great with four elements, but it's hard to scale for a higher number; 2) The selection interaction is forgiving for spatial positioning errors. This is because a 3D hand span is interpreted through a 1D angle range (a 1D subspace in the polar coordinate system of 2D projection space, which is a subspace of the 3D space of the experience, respectively). This prevents false positives and makes it easy for users to execute. Precise muscle coordination is not required, either. Design tip: Lower the dimensionality of your interaction to reduce cognitive loads and make it more accessible. 3) Using depth-based animations to show different UI states is a great way to leverage the third dimension and add something interesting to the experience. But be careful. When the UI faces a user's face, the contrast in the motion might be low, so use it only as an additional layer.
