🚨 Relieved of Command Cmdr. James Koffi was relieved of command of the USS Truxtun (DDG-103), an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, by Rear Adm. Carlos Sardiello, Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet. The reason cited was a "loss of confidence" in Koffi's ability to command, directly following a collision on February 11, 2026, during a replenishment-at-sea (underway refueling) operation in the Caribbean Sea, within the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility. In the incident, the Truxtun collided with the USNS Supply (T-AOE-6), a Supply-class fast combat support ship (often referred to as a fleet oiler). CENTCOM Partners with Over 30 Nations, International Organizations for International Maritime Exercise (IMX) 2025 U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) hosted the International Maritime Exercise (IMX) 2025, the Middle East region’s largest multinational maritime exercise, February 9-20. IMX 25 involved 5,000 personnel from more than 30 nations and international organizations committed to preserving the rules-based international order and strengthening regional maritime security cooperation. Hosted by U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT), the 12-day exercise offered a unique opportunity for participants to collaborate and illustrate the importance of regional maritime security cooperation. This year’s iterations of IMX is linked with exercise Cutlass Express, a U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa led annual exercise designed to enhance regional maritime awareness and the combined capabilities of partner nations to respond to maritime threats. The operational phase of IMX included partner exchanges on mine countermeasures, unmanned systems and artificial intelligence integration, vessel defense, search and rescue, and mass casualty response. Allies and partners at IMX 25 also had an opportunity to train with Combined Task Force West (CTF-W) Headquarters where partner forces performed Explosive Ordnance Disposal and dive operations, Close Quarters Combat drills, and Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) container climbs. Additionally, CTF-W hosted eight partner nations, including six members from the Republic of Yemen Government (ROYG) Coast Guard in Aqaba, the Northern Red Sea, and Eilat. “IMX 25 demonstrates the collective commitment of our respective allies and partners to support regional maritime security cooperation, increase interoperability, and strengthen security and stability in the region,” said Gen. IMX 25 involved 5,000 personnel from more than 30 nations and international organizations committed to preserving the rules-based international order and strengthening regional maritime security cooperation. Hosted by U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT), the 12-day exercise offered a unique opportunity for participants to collaborate and illustrate the importance of regional maritime security cooperation. This year’s iterations of IMX is linked with exercise Cutlass Express, a U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa led annual exercise designed to enhance regional maritime awareness and the combined capabilities of partner nations to respond to maritime threats. The operational phase of IMX included partner exchanges on mine countermeasures, unmanned systems and artificial intelligence integration, vessel defense, search and rescue, and mass casualty response. Allies and partners at IMX 25 also had an opportunity to train with Combined Task Force West (CTF-W) Headquarters where partner forces performed Explosive Ordnance Disposal and dive operations, Close Quarters Combat drills, and Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) container climbs. Additionally, CTF-W hosted eight partner nations, including six members from the Republic of Yemen Government (ROYG) Coast Guard in Aqaba, the Northern Red Sea, and Eilat. “IMX 25 demonstrates the collective commitment of our respective allies and partners to support regional maritime security cooperation, increase interoperability, and strengthen security and stability in the region,” said Gen. It’s about crime and immigration, but they’re missing the warfare dimension,” Arocha said. “They’re missing that, for the Maduro regime, the United States is the enemy — has been the enemy for years, since Hugo Chavez came to power.” Arocha points out that the Tocorón prison, from which TDA’s leader Hector “El Niño” Guerrero Flores and others reportedly escaped during a military operation to retain control of the prison from the inmates, is not a real prison but a “palace” serving as “the epicenter of crime in Venezuela.” When Tocorón was raided in September 2023, news reports revealed Tocorón’s swimming pool, nightclub, and even a zoo — as well as tunnels allowing inmates to pass in and out of the compound. Arocha believes the raid was staged to convince the public that Maduro’s government was attempting to regain control of the prison. “On the contrary, the TDA has safe haven in Venezuela,” he said. “The TDA is not a gang. It’s a [military] arm of the Venezuelan regime in the hybrid warfare strategy. That’s the missing point. And that is the point that explains how a local gang [is] now in more than 10 countries, including the United States. That’s incredible. According to TankerTrackers, the merchant vessel identified by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) as the Mozambique-flagged M/T Lavine is the same ship operating under the name M/T Disha (IMO 8818219). CENTCOM says the vessel repeatedly attempted to breach the U.S. naval blockade of Iran, ignored multiple warnings, and was ultimately disabled after U.S. forces fired into its engine room on July 24th. TankerTrackers reports it first observed the vessel entering the U.S. blockade perimeter on July 23. The organization notes the tanker has been under U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions for the past two years and alleges it previously transported Iranian liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to the Houthis in Yemen. The Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI) says the vessel was carrying 28 Indian seafarers, all of whom survived the incident. The union alleges the strike targeted the vessel's accommodation area. However, video shared by the organization appears to show flames emanating from a hatch at the base of the smokestack, directly above the engine room, which is broadly consistent with CENTCOM's statement that U.S. forces disabled the vessel by firing into its engine room.
