RM shared that “they don’t know ’bout us” was inspired by conversations with Jimin about emotions, perspective, and how people perceive them! 🐨: “Um, ‘they don’t know ’bout us’ is a song that Jimin really checked up on and worked on a lot. Jimin always said that through this session, he really improved a lot. Not just in singing, but also in learning vocals and writing melodies too. Before making this song, me, Jimin, and the songwriters there had worked on another song called ‘Weak.’ While talking about what kind of story we should tell, I brought up the phrase, ‘You make me weak.’ That was what I had in mind. But actually, it was something directed toward you guys. ‘You make me weak.’ It’s something you’d say to someone you love. ‘You always make me weak.’ But that feeling can be both bad and good, kind of like normal emotions. [….] Then Jimin asked me, ‘Hyung, why is it “You make me weak”?’ Why does it make you weak? And I said, because people… they actually don’t know us. They can’t know us. Even I don’t fully know myself. While talking about that, I think Jimin found that idea really interesting. The idea that: ‘People make me weak because they don’t really know me.’ The next day, Jimin and I ended up splitting into different rooms, and I think there, with DOC and some sampling they brought in, they turned it into ‘they don’t know ’bout us.’ If you watch the performance, there are all those eyes and faces appearing on the iPad or tablet screens. So originally, this song actually started as something written for ARMYs, but in the end, it became a really aggressive song directed at people outside who don’t really know us at all.”

NO BUT HIS IDEA SO BRILLIANT? 👑: i already talked about it and gave hints to yeodoongies, right? so, it was almost at the final completion stage, but then the price came out. and it ended up being a bit higher than i expected. since i really wanted this item to be practical and actually useful for yeodoongies, i designed it with that in mind—and because of those extra details, the unit cost ended up a bit higher than i first thought 👑: so i thought, “wouldn’t this be a bit too much of a burden for yeodoongies?” that’s why i just decided to scrap it and changed to something else instead 💬: then just give me the one you scrapped 👑: ㅎㅎㅎ ah, that one was actually—well, i guess i can just say it now anyway. actually, i was thinking of a keyboard. the idea for that keyboard was something like i wanted to put hehetmon face on the keyboard—what should i call it? on the keycaps, like emojis. and then, you know those keyboards that don't make that loud clicking sound? not like mechanical keyboards, but ones that sound like asmr... ah, silent! but even though it's silent, it has that, you know—that “sagak-sagak” sound when you press the keys. yeah, you’re right! like “tuduk-tuduk” sound! i had that kind of keyboard in mind and tried to make it happen. but the unit cost ended up being higher than i expected. and i thought, this is a bit too much— i know our yeodoongies would want to have it no matter what, but if the price is this high, it’ll be such a burden on yeodoongies. so, i just made the call to scrap it and switched to something else

.Naval: The easiest way to see that AI is not taking jobs but creating opportunities is to go learn AI and then reapply for the job that rejected you. Watch how they pull you in. “My last startup, Airchat, could not have existed without AI because we needed the transcription/translation. And even the current thing I’m working on—it’s not an AI company, but it cannot exist without AI. It is relying on AI. Even at AngelList, we’re significantly adopting AI. Like everywhere you turn, it’s more opportunity, more opportunity, more opportunity. And people like to go on Twitter—or the artist formerly known as Twitter—and basically, they like to exaggerate. Like, ‘Oh my God, we’ve hit AGI.’ ‘Oh my God, I just replaced all my mid-level engineers.’ ‘Oh my God, I’ve stopped hiring.’ To me, that’s moronic. The two valid perspectives are the one-man entrepreneur shows, where there’s one guy or one gal, and they’re scaling up like crazy thanks to AI. Or there are people who are embracing AI and being like, ‘I need to hire, and I need to hire anyone who can even spell ‘AI’—anyone who’s even used AI. Just come on in, come on in.’ Again, I would say the easiest way to see that AI is not taking jobs but creating opportunities is this: go brush up on your AI, learn a little bit, watch a few videos, use the AI, tinker with it, and then go reapply for that job that rejected you. Watch how they pull you in.”

💬 Mingi, I have to work overtime today. Can you go to work instead of me? 🐥 Hey, I just came back from a business trip, didn’t I? It hasn’t even been that long since I went on a trip. That’s a bit much to ask of me. 💬 Mingi, tonight there’s the F1 ranking match. Do you want to watch it? 🐥 For us, F1 or soccer broadcasts are usually on Coupang Play. But I haven’t registered for Coupang Play yet. Ah, don’t you need to pay to watch that? No? You need to pay more, right. Until recently… ah, saying this might make me look bad… but I was using our manager hyung’s Netflix account. But then it kept asking for identity verification. And then my mom too, she was watching Netflix using a friend’s account, and when we talked, we decided, “Let’s just get our own.” So this month, for the first time, I actually paid for Netflix myself. Originally, I only used OTT like Laftel - that anime site. I just used that at first. Later, I subscribed to Apple TV for ‘Foundation’, you know, that sci-fi space series, kind of like a drama/movie mix. But I don’t use Apple TV all the time - only when there’s something I really want to watch. Then I just pay for one month and cancel. 💬 Laftel didn’t invite our Mingi, right? 🐥 What’s this? Did Laftel do a pop-up? Laftel recommendations? I was literally watching anime just now…recommendations… ah, what should I recommend? The thing is, I don’t know what could be controversial or not controversial these days. The world is dangerous now. I can’t say something’s wrong, but if I recommend something and it becomes an issue, it’s tricky. So better not? Yeah, you get it, right. That’s why I can’t freely recommend things - it’s scary. One thing I did watch this year and liked was ‘약사의 혼잣말/The Apothecary Diaries’. That was fun. I actually enjoy that kind of thing. My close friends and Mingtis, know this about me - I like rom-coms and slice-of-life stuff. Surprisingly, I don’t watch intense things. Nothing too strong. So if I recommend something, it has to be safe, controversy-free. Otherwise I’d rather quit anime altogether. There’s this one called ‘야무진 고양이는 오늘도 우울/Depressed Cat Today as Well’ - do you know it? The cat is huge, like massive. And wow, that cat is so cute. I didn’t expect I’d like it so much. A giant cat. At first, I wondered why the cat got so big, but then you realize it’s not that kind of anime - it’s not meant to make you think. It’s just to watch and enjoy. And it’s nice. Oh, and ‘향기로운꽃은능롬하게핀다/The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity’ - I’m waiting for that one now. For the first time in a while, it actually made my heart flutter.

🚨President Trump announced that there might be a high-level meeting with Zelenskyy as early as this weekend, but didn’t specify if he would participate, and once again reiterated that UA should hold elections right now (note: it’s against the constitution to hold elections during the martial law, also it’s simply not safe, and UA society is widely opposed to the idea). TRUMP: “They would like us to go to a meeting over the weekend, in Europe, and we’ll make a determination depending on what they come back with. We don’t wanna be wasting time. Sometimes you have to let people fight it out, and sometimes you don’t. But the problem with letting people fight it out is you’re losing thousands of people a week. It’s ridiculous. The whole thing is ridiculous.” Q: “And when you say that the European leaders want to have a meeting over the weekend, are you talking about with Zelenskyy or with them?” TRUMP: “With Zelenskyy and us.” Q: “And you said in an interview yesterday that you think it’s time for Zelenskyy to start accepting things. What things are you talking about?” TRUMP: “Well, I think he has to be realistic. And I do wonder about how long is it gonna be till they have an election. You know, for a democracy, it’s a long time. They haven’t had an election in a long time. There was a poll that came out, 82% of the people are demanding a settlement be made, Ukrainian people. They wanna see a settlement be made. I understand that. They’re losing thousands and thousands of people a week. They wanna see it ended. And I do say at what point, when do they have an election in Ukraine? That’s not casting aspersions on anybody, but they do have a massive corruption situation going on there… People are asking this question, ‘When do they have an election?’ Are they gonna have an election, or are they gonna just keep it going like this? So, I think it’s time to get that war settled, and I think it’s a war that can be settled. But it takes two to tango.”

CNN’s Josh Campbell admits the ICE officer’s cellphone video of his deadly confrontation with Renee Good that the thud heard at the end *might be* sound of the officer being “struck by that vehicle,” but it *might NOT* and instead “could be from you know, the phone on his clothing.” He adds the video showed “wasn’t, you know, coming head on at that agent, you know, trying to mow him over.” “Well, this is a critical new angle. This was the actual vantage point of the officer. And we know that not many immigration officers actually wear body worn cameras. But, in this instance, the immigration agent was holding his phone up, essentially filming this encounter, which we can now see in this video obtained by our colleague Holmes Lybrand. So, in the video, you see that the officers are making contact with Renee Good there. She’s parked somewhat perpendicular in a street. And there’s another woman that’s there, which is outside the vehicle. And you can tell, you know, as the exchange there with Renee Good that, you know, she’s being somewhat pleasant. The other woman is, you know, kind of mouthy. And, you know, this is obviously a bit a bit tense, you tells the agent at one point, you know, ‘why don’t you go get some lunch, big boy?’ You also see critically. And I’ll get to this in a second. Bystanders behind the vehicle. We’ve seen other angles. This one shows us again, the vantage point of that officer. Another agent orders Renee Good out of the vehicle. This agent then walks around. That is the moment that she then takes off. And, on that audio, what we hear, it appears that you can actually hear friction on the phone. You know, it appears from other angles that the agent was indeed struck by that vehicle. But you hear on the audio, it appears friction on the phone, that could be from the vehicle strike. That could be from you know, the phone on his clothing. But then it appears three shots were fired after that. And then you hear afterwards someone, it appears, maybe an immigration agent who was there, actually, you know, use profanity, you know, calling — calling her an f-ing B, which we heard on — on the audio there. Now, let’s talk about the tactics for a second so I can tell you this, as a former federal agent, that law enforcement officers can use deadly force only when necessary, when they believe that there is an imminent threat to their life. In this instance, you have a moving vehicle that’s coming at that agent. “Now, the driver, Renee Good, did turn the wheel to the right. So, it appears that she wasn’t, you know, coming head on at that agent, you know, trying to mow him over. But nevertheless, an agent in that split second decision would have to make that calculation. Am I in danger? Is my life threatened here? You know, agents are also taught What are other options? Could you move out of the way? And that’s why this has been such a contentious issue here — the judgment, the decision of that agent to actually open fire. We’ve heard, you know, obviously, people supporting that decision, others, being quite critical. One other thing I want to note is that when agents undergo training and not just the feds, but law enforcement across the country, it is a cardinal rule that you are responsible for every round that you fire. And one key component of that is to the extent that you have the time and you can, you must be aware of what is beyond your shot, what is in the background? Here, it appears from that video that this other woman who had been engaging in the agent with the agent, was quite clearly in the line of fire. But there were also other people that were standing behind that car on the sidewalk. And this is a residential area. And so, I’m sure that will face some scrutiny as well. The officer opening fire at that moment, you know, directly, it appears towards those other people beyond the shot. And then his partners. And you brought this up, Brianna, just the other day, his partners are there in close range as well. And so, this will be heavily scrutinized from a tactical perspective as well. About the officer opening fire, but again, just critical, critical new video here that we’re seeing an important angle what the officer would have been seeing in the moment.”

Scott Jennings just blew up the Democrats’ favorite excuse. They’re now claiming Graham Platner wasn’t properly vetted, but Jennings wasn’t buying it for a second. He reminded the CNN panel that prominent Democrats like Ro Khanna, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Tim Walz all knew about Platner’s past — and backed him anyway. JENNINGS: “The only thing I disagree with is when she said that he hadn’t been vetted.” “No, he had been vetted!” “All of the things that have been stated, it was all out in the public and people like Ro Khanna, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Tim Walz, the Bulwark, Pod Save America, all these people came together to overlook it all, to explain it all, to rationalize it all.” “He was vetted. People knew all these things and a whole bunch of Democrats in Maine showed up and voted for him anyway. And a bunch of donors from around the country sent him money anyway.” “I agree with Alyssa’s question. What changed? Why are you bailing on Graham Platner now?!” “You already signed off on Nazi tattoo, a self-described communist, somebody who’s had rape fantasies, somebody who has been on a social media platform known as a playground for predators.” “And on and on and on and on and on.” “And the difference between this accuser and the previous one is simply this, she’s a liberal. It’s okay, I guess, for Democrats that their candidate’s assault conservatives.” “But he broke into someone’s house. And apparently, according to her, raped her. And because her politics are correct, they can now believe it.” “All of this whole thing is disgusting. But to say that they hadn’t vetted him, or that they didn’t know about all this is totally false.” “They knew it and they signed up for it, and I don’t know why they’re backing away from this scumbag today when they had already signed off on all that other crazy behavior.” Scott Jennings

Chris Cuomo is in rare form tonight. He began his show on NewsNation by calling out the Democrat members of Congress who told the military to stand down from orders. Cuomo said if the Democrats don’t reset: “We are asking for BIG trouble.” He began: “Right or wrong?” “This? Wrong!” “All day long.” “Ahhhh, he’s MAGA!” “Shut up!” “Uhhhh.” “And if you watch show, I said last night when it came out, it was wrong to put the duty to check a president on the troops. It’s on you!” “You have a constitutional duty. What an ugly irony that it’s members of Congress asking this, it should be citizens who might be asking that.” “You’re supposed to check, it’s why you raised your right hand.” “But what is it about now? They’re looking for a fight. Why? Because you want them to! Because you want a muscular response to Trump.” “You want stop walking all over you. You want stop getting away with everything and him call in the game all the time and controlling everything, you want a muscular response.” “That’s why you want Newsom on Twitter. You know, because acting all acting like fools, we’re all acting like fools.” “Why? Because we know I guess we don’t know any better and more. But I know we’re playing with fire and I know worse is to come on this course.” “I don’t like it. I don’t want it. I would leave my family, I will enter unsafe conditions to cover it. But if we don’t reset and fast. We are asking for big trouble.”
