How such grace and kindness exists is beyond me. Would you share what little coffee you have with a stranger? Be able to laugh at how common dishes are an unaffordable luxury? Or be so kind in your words when really we’re not able to provide for most people’s needs because so little aid is getting in. Its deeply painful that people – rightfully – feel so abandoned that just knowing we’re there provides a level of comfort even when we’re not able to actually give that much. I often wonder how I would react if I were in the same situation. Would I be able to hold on to my moral compass? (The last part, about children is because earlier she had asked if I was married and if I had kids. No and no and always a source of amusement.) I haven’t just witnessed this in Gaza, I have in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere … its extraordinary how people who have the least are willing give the most. Honestly, there were moments when I thought, I really didn’t have university life at all. But whatever you do, there are always things you have to give up. You can’t really hold onto everything. I do see my friends, they go hang out, have meals, do this and that, but I’m working. But it’s not that I don’t love my job, I love my job so much. I really enjoy it. It’s just that there’s a small part of me that feels like, I’m missing out on that life, because to be honest, I’m only 22 but by the time it’s on, I would be 23, there’s just a little bit of that feeling. But I would choose this over that for sure because I’m really happy working. Lately, I try to find joy when I work, if I can’t have a vacation, it’s okay because I find joy when I work. It might just be simple things like joking around with the team or getting to eat something delicious, or like feeling happy when filming, that’s already happy. And then my life is, I believe there are people who must be working hard, who also want to be like this, so it can suit each other as well. Every working parent’s nightmare! You have to work. It’s the only way your family can survive, so you have to put your child in daycare. The licensed facilities that are supposed to keep your child safe while you work, but do they? What makes this even worse is that the daycare providers didn’t tell the parents what happened. A friend sent mom a FB message and that how this nightmare began. How would you have handled this? Personally, I believe the parents were a lot more calm and accommodating than I would be. I can assure you this would not be the end of the story if this were me.
