This is huge as the recording went under the radar during Read's first trial. Listen below with enhanced, in both real time and 0.75x speed, and hear Karen clearly saying to Jen: "Can you Google 'how long to die in the cold'" as Jen is on the phone with 911 (the recording is from a voicemail from a different phone that caught Karen speaking to Jen) at the scene where John O'Keefe was found, suffering from a head injury and hypothermia, after Read allegedly struck John with her car --while drunk driving with a BAC 2-4 times over the legal limit-- and left him to die on a lawn at 12:32am that morning. With Olympic bobsleigh now full speed ahead, the perfect time to take a trip down memory lane at the new Eugenio Monti Olympic Sliding Center. From the 1956 Olympics, numerous FIBT World Championships and World Cup events, high speeds, thrills, adventures, friendships made, a James Bond film, the friendly Bob Bar, bad crashes and even death, this venerable sporting venue here in Cortina holds a century of storied history. Here's a brief look back as told from Cortina's former finishing curve, since replaced by a new design and final curve. My story In memory of James "Nitro" Morgan, who died in the finishing curve after a horrific crash at the 1981 World Championships. My friend, bobsled mentor from the CBS Sports days, and veteran TV commentator, Jim's brother John Morgan, who announced the race for ABC Sports. RIP Jim.
