Commentators say populism on both sides of the aisle is inevitable. It isn’t. Millions of voters across Britain want pragmatic, pro-growth politics - and that can come from a serious centre-right Conservative Party.

You simply don't listen . The Tory party due to being a pragmatic broad church destroyed England . To me it treason what you clowns did to our country ..

You lot still don't get it.

I can't help thinking that for you populism is a policy idea that is very popular amongst the lower class and must therefore be, in a nice paternal way, dismissed.

I think we all want pragmatic pro-growth policies (NB growth in per-Capita GDP) and please focus on this. If you give the impression that you're trying to undermine @KemiBadenoch it will be very counterproductive, & we'll end up with Farage.

More liberal pandering, globalism and appeasement. Just what the voters are asking for 😂

@foxesdale Serious centre right is what Kemi is doing. We don't want well poisoners who are more aligned to LibDem values than Tory. Sign up to Kemi's agenda or take a hike

No we don't. That's why we voted against you in 2024.

'Centre right?' .. You're lucky to have 4 or 5 decent Tories left .. the remainder should join labour or libs, as share exact destructive mindsets and agenda Remember Tories brought Millions here Tories made Net Zero law, blew up and concreted over energy essentials Just go away

We dont want you

There won’t be any Conservative Party if you lot carry on like this. Exactly why did you decide that this was the right time to launch this vanity project given that in recent months the party was just beginning to show signs of gaining traction with voters?

Shut up and go into retirement. Leave Kemi to get on with it. She was voted in, not you.

It's not pro-growth or pragmatic to subsidise a growing class of unassimilable, low-grade dependents, at the expense of British people. You can't duck this problem.

Nope. The centre ground is now crowded. You can't win from there. The arena has changed beyond your ken.

Vote Reform, never vote Tory again after they destroyed the justice system last 14 years. Opened the borders, created havoc with energy prices, then, can’t fix the pot holes.

Populism delivers between 20% & 25% on the right & 15% to 20% on the left. The bit in the middle is where elections are won so Conservatives need policies that appeal to those voters as well as the more right of centre policies already announced.

Andy the problem is the blob hasn’t delivered anything for the U.K. for decades. What makes you think more of the same is going to work ? There is a reason Farage and Polanski are breaking through and it is the feeling that nothing changes only the colour of the rosette.

What bullshit. You had 14 years and made a complete hash of it. Everything costs more / nothing works. You lost your job as a result like hundreds of others. Now as if by magic, you claim to be able to clear up your own mess I don’t know what the answer is but it’s not you

Your bullshit got us into this mess . We want remigration to get us out of it .

Are you committed to conservative policy, example leaving the ECHR because if you are departing from conservative policy then I will be voting reform

Another Oxford PPE man with a fake degree Oxford PPEs are the bane of this country

Wet, Wet and Wetter. There is a reason you were roundly rejected in 2019. Go ask your friend Dom Greives how the Brussels visits and meetings at EU House worked out at the alter of public opinion.

‘One nation’ politics of yesteryears Tories appear to be trapped in a time warp. The centre right ground shifted. Where are they?

Without mention of where you stand on the elephant in the room ie UK-EU relations I suspect your commendable project to reach out to homeless centre-right former Tories like me is likely to flounder. Nevertheless good luck as a pragmatic moderate voice in the party I once served!

Why do you think populism is on the rise all over the west? Root cause please.

"populism seeks to defend the interests and maximize the power of ordinary citizens" How could anyone want that?

And millions don't want to go back to something that was a failure in the past.

@edvaizey You had your turn and fu#ked up so what changed because evidently your arrogants hasn't.

Perhaps avoid saying 'both sides of the aisle'. This is not America.

Why would anyone think first that we would forget the last 14 years and second why would anyone vote against for a one nati9n, wet, Liberal Democrat party

We have had a centre right Govt since Thatcher. Hence Reforms polling. Hope perhaps of a real pro business, hyper low migration even possible remigration of the foreign scroungers and illegals. Areal centre right, not Liberalism masquerading as conservative.

You’re fantastic at unpopularity …

Lol, both so called Conservatives and so called Labour are demonstrating just how unpopular the Establishment can be!

Just join the Lib Dems and stop wasting everyone's time.
