Common question, "Why are Indians so loud?".

Not Indians, North Indians.

We talk loudly within our group, not yelling at others. I don't want to be silent with my family. I've visited countries where people are louder than described here.

My take - That is how freedom sounds. Not worried about other people’s feeling and opinions and just living your life.

Because Indians are not dead inside 🤷

Spot on ! Last day I took a double decker bus tour of Mumbai in the night. It was utterly horrible …..the noise of people talking inside the bus was deafening ..Indian tourists have the least civic sense …often I am ashamed to be identified as an Indian when on tour overseas

The truth is, one person’s loudness becomes the stereotype for an entire nation. We may unknowingly contribute to it too. Respecting local ways is non-negotiable. But why should every Indian carry the burden of a few who act like jaahils abroad?

*NOT all Indians. Definitely not South Indians.

We live in communities , sometimes in joint families... In such situations the one who's louder is heard... Rest is lack of civic sense also...

Not just Indians many “communities across the world are loud”, Italian, Mexican, American, Brits, Chinese etc Have you heard them in group? They will be very loud, so it’s more of group thing. They often travel in small groups or solo so one won’t hear them. One thing is that they are more to enjoy the nature so they will maintain low volume but many in India travel for show off so many times discussion is for photos etc. But there is no reason for disrespect to anyone or feel ashamed about, it’s just another human being who is different 🤷

Good community based behaviour should be talught in schools. Japan does it. Traffic discipline, speaking, cleanliness, garbage segregation, non litering and so on many things including not being greed y tgetting into buses/ trains or standing up moment plane touches down etc..

Indians are loud because of the environment. Like constant honking, noise, dogs, vehicles etc. By default our voice is bit loud. we realize this when we go to a quite place.

Last month was in a metro subway in Toronto. Was peaceful till a group of Indians boarded the coach and lost in their loud banter. Literally everyone else turned their heads and shook it in disapproval. It was embarrassing.

Those who dont talk with own family usually have high divorce rates like west have... the problem is they are silent, if they spoken to each other ,their families would have been joint families n less divorce rate like indians. Now you know whats your future is...
