Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. Last post on this I'd appreciate if people took the time to read it and share it because I think when people listen they deserve credit but TRNSMT have done more than that I complained about the disabled situation TRNSMT Festival and I think the fact that they listened and made changes is the kind of progressive attitude we need towards disabled facilities. I wasn't complaining to come across as some sort of Karen, it just genuinely would've been a health and safety risk. So I think it's only right that I commend them for the work they've done with the platform this year. The platform has many key things that I think make it the best at any festival I've been at. 1.Clear marked out lanes for people to move out to the toilets and back to their seat to avoid congestion and create space 2. A bar for disabled people beside the platform this is amazing. 3. Toilets well spaced out as well as a changing places toilets for people who more severe disabilities beside the platform. 4. Plenty of space in the toilets. 5. It's huge and you feel really close to the stage

The Samuel Leeds School has finally opened, with over 400 pupils already registered 🏫 This is not our first school building, but it is our first private school, offering financial literacy as well as core subjects. When I was at school, I was told I was stupid, and none of the teachers taught me anything about business or finance. Not only are we building schools that provide this education, but we are also working with the Ugandan government to improve the curriculums within state schools. Our next project will be a Centre of Excellence that provides online courses and remote training for not only the children but also the teachers. I have just pledged to the Ministry of Education that I would construct this building, volunteer my teaching time, and provide computers for the new centre. This has never been done before. Once this is proven to revolutionise the school curriculum and people see that the right education is the future of prosperity, I pray the UK will follow and allow me to offer my voluntary services to bring financial literacy across the country 🇬🇧

🚨 Burkina Faso 🇧🇫- No place for religious bigotry! You see this man running? It’s an Imam who went on live to condemn the government’s draft law that wants to ban people erecting mosques and churches in public administration. I listened to his criticism and honestly, I was shocked and disgusted. Can you imagine this old man openly insulted the government and painted them as the devil if they want to prevent people from praying on public squares? Now, let me make this clear. The government never said that people cannot pray. The have adopted a bill aimed at prohibiting the construction and establishment of places of worship (mosques, churches) within the premises of public services. However, the practice of individual or collective prayer in public administrative spaces is not prohibited. So, I am surprised that this Iman who has a Doctorate couldn’t understand something as simple as this. But no, he went on his pulpit and started spewing nonsense. So, the local police who fights religious intolerance and extremism went to arrest him for questioning and he took off 😄. Some of his fellow muslims took to the streets to ask for his release and it became an open confrontation with the police. You see, this is what I have been saying for donkey years that people need to separate religion from the State. These are two different issues. But it seems like when it comes to religion, many Africans are so alienated that they are blinded by their religious zealotry. I even saw the weak-minded ones say that they thought that Capitaine Ibrahim TRAORÉ was going to be the President who would uplift Islam ☪️ and root for its propagation. I was like what the hell is wrong with these people? Anyway, let this be a reminder to every Burkinabè like myself that Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 is a secular country. When I see a newspaper reporting on hatred but calling it ‘backlash’ I feel it is important to clarify that hatred is hatred, and this kind of hatred is violence. “Backlash would imply that people who love or respect Dylan and me didn't like something we did. To the degree that we have any information about this woman’s political views, she appears to be a Biden/Harris supporter and pro-choice. After looking through all of her social media accounts, this is the only political post that she has made. And yet Sisson declares, without a shred of evidence, that she is a “Trump supporter.” This is the kind of thing that is inflaming our cultural tensions with deliberate lies. And he does it without a shred of embarrassment or conscience. This is vile, vile behavior that will lead to further Balkanization and violence. It’s not a game. It’s not cute. It’s not a strategy. I was lucky, a male ostrich performs the mating dance for me yesterday at Obafemi Awolowo University biological garden. I was the only one present. When they do this for a human, researchers say this may mean that they really like you and they're trying to impress you or konji has carried them and they're seeing you as a potential mate. I will go for the former 😅 Tainkyu 😊

The Serbian community has deep roots in this city since its earliest days. Chicagoland is home to the largest Serbian community outside of Serbia and the Balkans. We are a huge, longstanding, and proud community in this city and we will not accept being disregarded or insulted. Without any consultation with our community, a decision was made to raise the flag of the terrorist and criminal “Republic of Kosovo” at Daley Plaza. This is an occupied territory that remains deeply painful for the Serbian people as this land is the centerpiece of our religion, culture and identity. For our community, this act is not symbolic or fun, it is a political statement that directly insults us. This action is unacceptable. If this terrorist flag of so called Republic of Kosovo is raised again in our city without dialogue or consideration of our community, you should expect a highly visible public protest at levels you’ve never seen before. We demand that this issue be addressed immediately. Engage with our community. Show respect for the people who have built this city. Do not repeat this mistake. Do not think to insult us like this ever again.
