Anthony Albanese today in response to Google's threat to sue the Australian Government if they are included in the under 16 social media ban. He says Julie Inman-Grant, the eSafety commissioner, has made her view clear. "up to four in ten of young people under the age of 16 who've engaged with YouTube have been harmed"... Sounds to me like that dodgy research eKaren was forced to release under FOI. He says assessments will be made "independent of any of these threats that are made by social media companies."

Julie Inman-Grant, Australia's eSafety Censorship Commissar has not ruled out travelling to the US to testify before a Congressional committee. She says she's been in touch with the committee but thinks she might not be the best person to testify (not sure why she flashed such a sh1t eating grin when she said that. I think she fancies herself as too clever for everyone else). Anyway, every good bureaucrat knows you don't throw a Minister under the bus so it will be interesting to see if she even lasts out her tenure. Public servants are disposable scapegoats in the eyes of government.

I'm seeing a lot of posts on other platforms saying things along the lines of "Australia is doing it right!" in regard to our upcoming Under 16s Social Media Ban. This isn't about protecting children, it's about control. Julie Inman Grant likens being on social media to swimming, and how young people ought to learn how to "swim between the flags." This is all fine and well, except now she wants to ban them from the water entirely? How will they learn to swim if they're just thrown in? Think about the platforms that are allowed to slip through the cracks. Discord, Roblox, Bluesky... All have had allegations of grooming and inappropriate content, yet they're exempt. Why? Control of the narrative. Control of the culture. Control of the impressionable minds of young people. That is all it is.

Yesterday, Australian Minister for Communications Anika Wells MP doubled down on her government's blanket social media ban for under-16s. She took aim at Shadow Minister for Communications Melissa McIntosh MP, who questioned the ban, saying that "in hindsight she probably would not have supported the law." Wells also criticised Senator Alex Antic and Senator Matt Canavan for co-sponsoring Senator Babet's repeal bill, accusing them of "dog-whistling." A free society does not treat speech like contraband or its citizens like children. The political tide is turning. We must ensure this ban is repealed and empower Australian parents to protect their own children from harm.

She is living a nightmare as she describes all the symptoms she suffers with daily .No one should be going through this!? It’s a cautionary tale for everyone… I think many are going to be horrified at what the pharmaceutical INDUSTRY has done to many people !
