This legislation is about protecting people and standing up against hate — conservatives need to stop the obstruction and vote for it.

Let’s be clear: Bill C-9, The Combatting Hate Act, is the anti-hate legislation that communities and law enforcement across Canada are asking for. Our government remains willing to work across the aisle to look for constructive improvements to this Bill. What we will not accept are endless delays and Conservative tactics designed to dodge a vote on this bill. I made a promise to my constituents to stand up for them and pass laws to fight back against hate immediately. Canadians want action- it’s time for Conservative members to get on board.

This Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act, opening the door to more racial gerrymandering. This is unacceptable, and Congress must act to protect it.
