This is an old story. The lady was morbidly obese, which hindered the restraint's effectiveness.

I prefer the older style wooden roller coasters that don’t go upside down.

This is fake. That’s not the Texas giant. It’s a wooden roller coaster.

Liability is assigned to the party that has the greatest ability to evaluate and mitigate risk... to incentivize them to minimize the risk. In the case of a roller coaster, the operator has the ability to properly design and to maintain the system. The user has no ability to evaluate whether the system is properly designed and maintained. If you go skydiving, the parachute manufacturer is liable for design defects, because they know best if the parachute works properly. However, the jumper is responsible for death and injury caused by improper maintenance and usage... because only they can evaluate and control that.

Hearing about this this reminds me the carnival in 1998 in Austin Texas when a 14-year-old girl lost her life because one of the safety harness came off that’s the reason why I don’t ride rollercoaster anymore. You guys stay safe out there.

Fun damn well shouldn't have risks. Roller Costers alone are supposed to be built to NOT be Final Destination fatalities. That Texas Six Flags is getting sued up the ass. It sounds like the seat wasnt secure, or worse, it loosened.

You can have these things. You put your life into the hands of some schmuck you’ve never met, has no credentials for anything that you’re aware of, much less the more pressing little issue of who’s maintaining this thing. I’ve seen those carny people….

Lol. That shouldn't become a lame excuse to overlook basic scrutiny and protocols to ensure safety. You for your life not with your life w your logic people will just spontaneously die from accident every second

Shouldnt there be a light that goes on in the control room that tells the operator of the ride that the safety harness on say car 2 is not secure?

i survived (class)action park, where the 14ish year old ride operators were drunk AF, and the funnest ride was a sled with no brakes on a concrete track going down a mountain(alpine slide). this doesn't scare me

At a guess major theme park roller coasters are probably safer than driving. Just think about it, one person falls out of a coaster, it's national news. A 5 car pileup on the highway makes local traffic news, not because it's notable, but just to tell people the road is blocked.

Wow so true everyone who rides a roller coaster should know they might die on it and if they do it'd be completely their fault! Definitely shouldn't hold the person who created the ride accountable.

I almost had the same thing happen to me! If it wasn’t for the little safety clip I would have fallen right out. I told the ride operator what happened and he acted like it wasn’t a big deal!

Know what to do before the market forces you to decide. 1. Before the trade — Should I trade? Is it a proven setup from your playbook? Does the market environment fit? Does the reward justify the risk? Do you have a clear invalidation level and the correct position size? Are you following your system, or do you just want action? If these don't align, pass. 2. At entry — What am I risking? Know your entry, stop, position size, initial $ risk, % of capital at risk, and your target or exit method. The chart determines the stop. The stop determines the position size. 3. After entry — Has anything actually changed? Is the setup still valid? Has your predetermined exit been reached? Has price action materially changed? Are you reacting to the chart or to your P&L? If nothing important has changed, don't invent a new decision. 4. When losing — Exit or hold? Hold only while your thesis and predefined risk remain valid. Exit when the stop is triggered, the setup is invalidated, market behavior violates your entry reason, or your risk limit is reached. Never turn a planned trade into an unplanned investment. 5. When winning — Exit or hold? Has the target been reached? Has the trailing stop triggered? Has the trend or setup weakened? Is there actual evidence to exit, or are you afraid of giving back profit? Let your exit rules manage the winner, not your emotions. 6. After the trade — What did I learn? Record the setup, entry, exit, risk, result in R, rule adherence, mistakes, a screenshot, and one lesson. Then separate two questions: did the strategy work, and did you execute it correctly? A losing trade can still be good execution. A winning trade can still involve bad execution. Make your important trading decisions before money is influencing your emotions.
