"It's objective fact" "It's inarguable" "the concept proves itself" Dude who can't even put forth a paper-thin defense for his point starter pack.

"Best I can find" >Shows screenshot of Google AI overview

this video is giving this stupid ass meme lmfao

Why do gamers care so much about the appeal products have to general audiences? Have you ever seen a movie or read a book and went, "damn, I wish this was more palatable for general audiences"

1. You don't need to interact with the competitive side 2. Being competitive is human nature 3. You can also just avoid playing multiplayer VS. games. Maybe you'd enjoy hopping on some Castle Crashers instead.

extremely loud incorrect buzzer moment every 5 seconds in this video

why do casuals talk about every game like they're an investor? "but muh general audiences" "minority of gamers" like who cares lol

"best that i can find" and its the first result google's ai gave him. i dont think he put more than 2 minutes into this

directly aiming for "mainstream appeal" is how you get sterile mass produced crap (aka most of western AAA gaming these days), and i hope this guy lives in misery at niche competitive games releasing

I like that he talks like someone who never casually played a single sport in his life, because despite saying that he does, he can't grasp that competitiveness is the drive that a lot of genres inherently rely on to be more fun, even if you're just playing exclusively casually.

Honestly I can understand the desire for casual games, however, I think it's kind of sad to see so many people embrace the "appealing to a niche audience is 'inherently' bad" mentality.

Then play with your friends instead of grinding the ranked ladder. There was a never an era of “online casual” games that you were harkening to. People were able to casually enjoy fighting games bc they had equally casual friends to play with.

yeah

he is absolutely right, especially if he's bringing up how TF2 got worse by trying to appeal to a small sect of the playerbase

Appealing to the big audience isn't objectively smarter btw. Gacha games regularly target 0.01% percent of spenders in their attempts to catch whales. Ignoring gacha games. If 10% actually want to stick around and play a game, who cares what the 90% that swap games every week do?

I’ll never understand people who will play PvP games all day and not want to improve in someway. Also people completely underestimate how many gamers enjoy a challenge or improving in any type of videogame

Ts pissed me off Games being competitive does make them appeal to less people, but that doesn't make it less fun. Instead of whining about a space you want to change to accommodate you, find another game to play and turn off your brain. I recommend single player stuff.

"i suck at games, so i make it other peoples problem" is what im hearing. im bad at fighting games too, but theyre still fun

“These are the best numbers I can find” *AI Overview*

Guy who made this audio also thinks Basketball is more fun when everyone just throws the ball at random and hope for it to score

He talks like a kid who just learned what the world inherently means

Gaming itself is not for everyone. Competitions and competitive gaming will always be a core staple of gaming. Saying that they are “objectively/factually at odds with the medium” does not make it true either, and AI Google stats don’t qualify as extensive research.

Kingdom Hearts isn’t competitive, but that community can be toxic. Toxic just comes with the community no matter what. 🤷🏾♂️

"Imagine videogames being made to 10% of people"

Of course he mentions tf2 bruh why can’t I hecking tip my fedora and emote and do le whimsy and fun 😂

wait until he meets someone who enjoys playing games competitively (mind-blowing)

He's got some good points but it's too generalised. It's ok to have games shaped around the top competitive scene as much as it's ok for a game to not pay heed to any aspect of the competitive scene.

"youre taking a hobby made for fun and making it serious and take skill to start having fun" why do toxic casual players always fail to grasp that the process of getting good is also fun in itself? not just for games, literally any sport. the process of getting good is fun!

This is the worst video I've ever seen

Bro posted the Google AI overview as a source....

“Competitive games are harder which scientifically means it’s less fun” Hey dork, for a lot of us the competition is the fun. Ever heard of sports? The Olympics? Just because you use video games as an escape from how you suck at everything doesn’t mean we are all doing that.

libertarians all talk like this it's so funny
