Farage is missing the point - perhaps intentionally. The move to net zero is an economic opportunity first and foremost - it’s about jobs (new and better paid) and GDP growth. It’s not about chipping in to global efforts on carbon because we should. It’s about not being left behind in this global green economic revolution - it’s about acting in our own best interests - as opposed to being obliged by 'net zero wokery' - as he would like to portray it. This is misdirection.

On competitiveness: Europe must unlock the full potential of its market, talent and capital by removing barriers. On the EU budget: we must ensure we do not postpone the burden of today’s debt onto future generations.
