Markaz ʿUmar National Conference Alḥamdulillāh, the conference at Markaz ʿUmar bin Al-Khaṭṭāb with our two esteemed Shaykhs, د.محمد بن أحمد فرح الفيفي and الدكتور دغش بن شبيب العجمي, was a great success. We were also blessed with an insightful lecture by Shaykh Muḥammad bin Rabīʿ, who spoke about the life and contributions of his noble father, Shaykh Rabīʿ al-Madkhalī – may Allāh have mercy upon him. It was a pleasure to meet the wonderful brothers from Ahl al-Sunnah who travelled from countries such as Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland, and various parts of the UK. Likewise, brothers and sisters from as far as Nigeria, South Africa, and Brazil joined us online to benefit from the conference. I was honoured to finally meet brothers whom I have taught and spoken to online over the years, yet never met in person. I ask Allāh to make me better than they assume of me. May Allāh reward our scholars who participated, the translators, the brothers at Markaz ʿUmar who organised the event, the volunteers, and all those who attended and contributed to its success. Alḥamdulillāh, I personally gained much from the scholars—not just in knowledge, but also from their character—as well as from the organisers and attendees. May Allāh accept it from us all and grant us the Tawfīq to organise many more conferences with our scholars. Connecting Muslims to the scholars remains our central goal at Markaz ʿUmar.

A point of utter embarrassment and shame for many Iranians is the manner in which elements of the diaspora danced on the streets in Western capitals as bombs rained on Tehran. It is also a source for a lot of anger among Iranians in Iran who oppose the theocracy but nevertheless did not favor war and who are stunned to see some in the Diaspora being so indifferent to the suffering caused by the war. But there is another aspect that deserves closer scrutiny. These, almost exclusively pro-Shah elements of the Diaspora, did not dance to celebrate the downfall of the regime. They didn't dance because they had won. They simply danced because the war had started, nothing more. As if their goal was neither freedom nor democracy, but simply revenge and the pleasure they took from seeing Iran bombed. Had they danced after the theocracy had fallen (which it hasn't), it would be a bit different. It would be a moment where they could argue that the price was very high, but because the regime is defeated, it was worth it, and, as a result, a cause for celebration. But they didn't wait for the regime to fall. They danced right away. Signalling that the cost was worth it, EVEN IF the regime didn't fall. Because it was always about selfish revenge, not freedom.

Their plan: the complete and utter annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. Israel had no army and few weapons. Adversaries ambushed them from all directions. While the US and UK prevented Israel from getting arms, the Brits trained and armed the Arabs. Against ALL odds, tiny, unprepared Israel defeated SIX trained and well-armed armies. One of the greatest military humiliations in history. And the Arabs and Palestinians repeated similar self-inflicted humiliations in 1967 and again in 1973. Did you know that if Sen. John Thune and his RINO ilk somehow force the Senate to leave on vacation, that's not the end of the story? If you didn't know, President Trump can choose to call/compel them back into session under certain circumstances. Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution makes clear that the President may, if he deems it a worthy situation under what's referred to in the Constitution as the threshold of "...extraordinary Occasions." This essentially boils down to a President determining that a moment of sufficient importance exists; he can convene both Houses, or either of them individually. So, on the off chance that, upon arrival, they act like petulant children and let America down (yet again) by voting for another vacation recess, I absolutely expect Trump will cancel it again. Yes, he can do that. And to invoke that power, he would issue a proclamation setting the date and time for the session to begin—which I would assume would be right away and thereby making them all fly back. Then, upon their return, if they refuse to work to pass the SAVE America Act and vote to go on vacation again, Trump can order them back again. And no, there is no limit to how many times he can invoke that power. The way it hurts is that you wait for all the Senators to get home and call them back immediately. Rinse and repeat as necessary. It would be a nightmare for them—and a PR disaster heading into the midterm election. I say, make it hurt.

The Nakba was the Arabs losing a war they started — in the most humiliating way. I'll explain simply: On May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence. Immediately following that declaration, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia waged a genocidal war against the new Jewish state. Their plan: the complete and utter annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. Israel had no army and few weapons. Adversaries ambushed them from all directions. While the US and UK prevented Israel from getting arms, the Brits trained and armed the Arabs. Against ALL odds, tiny, unprepared Israel defeated SIX trained and well-armed armies. One of the greatest military humiliations in history. And the Arabs and Palestinians repeated similar self-inflicted humiliations in 1967 and again in 1973. If you want to talk about a real Nakba, then talk about the one million Jews ethnically cleansed from Arab countries. Those Jews were forced to flee, after murders, r*pes, and pogroms. Generations of their wealth, history, and places of worship left behind. No refugee status. No United Nations cheque every month — for seven generations. No “right of return.” Oh, and why is 20 per cent of Israel’s population Arab-Israeli? Well, as part of that 1948 war, Arab leaders ordered Arabs on Israeli land to leave their homes. They promised them they could return home after they exterminated the Jews. Israelis pleaded with the Arabs not to listen. “We are peace-loving people,” the Israelis published widely, inviting the Arabs to stay. “There is no cause for fear which others try to instill in you.” The ones who fled went to various refugee camps throughout the Arab states. Their living conditions were poor and the Arab states did not grant them any rights. Israel offered to take the refugees back. But nope! They did not want to live amongst Jews. The Arabs who did not leave remain today as part of the Arab-Israeli population of 2 million. Their rights are equal to those of Jewish-Israelis. The Nakba was never a catastrophe inflicted upon Arabs; it was always a self-inflicted embarrassment. This is not taught to Arab or Palestinian children in schools because it’s humiliating to their people. But why isn’t this important piece of history taught in schools everywhere else around the world? Too many schools in Canada, for instance, allow this propaganda to be a part of their classroom studies. And from a marketing perspective, this propaganda is well-positioned to be accepted by people who don’t know any better because they never received this education in any history class. The word “Nakba” is also cleverly wielded. A non-English word, it acts as a mysterious, yet symbolic placeholder for whatever trauma your mind can conjure. The ambiguity gives it power. The unfamiliarity of its language and culture gives it a sense of empathetic authenticity. You want it to be real, so you can demonstrate your empathy for its cause. Suicidal empathy. (Credit to yet for coining that term.) But for those who suffer from Factophobia (credit to me for coining that term), and cannot absorb facts — let me break it down again — in the absolute simplest way possible: The Nakba was the Arabs’ effort to colonize another country, genocide its people, lose a brutal war they started, and then whine about it to the world, forevermore. Critical thinking involves asking questions, so let’s ask some obvious ones about this 1972 Apollo Moon Take off filmed by NASA ‘allegedly’ from the surface of the Moon…. - how did Men in thick space suits create the infrastructure needed for take off? - compare the amount of equipment required to launch a craft from the Earths surface to the set up on the moon - how did they film it & relay the video back in real time? JHB CBD …. 🙂 is in a state, that you have to SEE - to Believe. These buildings are worth saving. Solid Structures that were built to Last. Unfortunately, most are in a shocking condition. These neglected buildings Can accommodate thousands of people in low cost units. But nobody cares, so the buildings get to this stage, and people are forced to live in poor conditions, because hijacker’s and bad actors in the CBD, who profit from this poverty don’t care as long as they get paid. We took this building back. And now will fix and secure this building, and maybe it can motivate other building owners, the COJ, and South African’s in general to TAKE BACK Their City. Ja'Kobe Walter is gonna miss his former teammates. His IG story just reminded me that four players from the 2025-2026 Raptors whom I spent 1000s of hours watching and analyzing won't be here next season. Add in Ulrich, AJ Lawson potentially and others yet to come. Life comes at you fast. But I really want to wish Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, Jon Mogbo and Sandro Mamukelashvili nothing but the best in California. I hope they do BB very well on their new times and thank them for being such a joy to cover. The 2025-2026 team was fun. It was a good group of hard workers. And don't let the Kawhi mania let you forget it. He chose Toronto because that team worked their asses off to get to the playoffs. He wasn't coming to a 25 win lottery team.
